I know that some of the auto parts stores might have caliper sets, but the local zone doesn't. Who has the best "stock appearing" caliper and pad sets for the 72 GS stage 1 with disc brakes? If anyone knows me, they know the next part of that question....
Who has the lowest price for those loaded kits?

Look at the ones from NAPA which are rebuilds from old cores. Most will have several sets and you can look at them on the counter.

    Hey Troy,
Got mine at CarQuest. Part #16-4035 and 16-4036. Loaded with their best pads. I think I paid $90 for the pair and NO CORE charge!! I'm almost certain on the price. I know it was under $100 for the pair and I bought new hose bolts also. They're Cardone who NAPA sells also. CarQuest was the cheapest. Advance Auto got me a Cardone reman booster/mstr cyl assy for $90 inc core charge. NAPA wanted $130 for the same part.

    Reman. quality?

I have heard of Cardone reman, but there are others. Is there any of them I should avoid?
    Sorry about these questions!! :spank:

Finished another A-body disc swap today. On '69-72 A-G body front calipers, have had good luck with reman Cardone calipers. Won't use Cardone disc master cylinders, though, had more than my share of problems w/ them. Instead, been having dated originals rebuilt... just say no to generic "new" masters. Original disc masters will have bleeders in them, which is big help!

Last four front disc changeovers I've put together, when picking up "rebuilts" @ O'Reillys, some of the "70 Chevelle" calipers have been the new import casting  Each time, had to order a couple more pair from the warehouse, in order to get a pair of rebuilts. Similiarly, when ordering rebuilt calipers for "69 Camaro" disc swap set-ups, ALL the calipers have come in as the import junkers... no thanks.

BTW, '72 A-body disc hose brackets are different size hole than '69-71' discs hose brackets & require a different application disc hose.

    Roger,
If you want Delco Morraine originals let me know. Local yards here in FL have plenty of 73-77 A-bodies w/disc brakes. I can probably get all the calipers you need. I will be at the yard on Sat. Email me directly at GStage1@buickperformance.com Thanks!
