There was a TV series in the early-mid sixties about a private detective who drove a 64 Skylark. The Skylark had a 35mm camera mounted in a console hidden between the front seats. The camera would pop up out of the console on a telescoping post when the detective needed to take pictures. I think it was supposed to be a high tech spy gadget. The show may have been called Mike hammer but I'm not sure.

Just saw the movie "Super 8 " Has a 1969 Buick Skylark, Yellow with black stripes. one of the main cars in the movie, not shown that much, but at least its more then a quick shot. He rear ends a parked AMC, totals it out,,,ugh,,,,,. Came out in 2011. Ok monster flick for kids.

I JUST SAW a trailer for a movie that shows a 71 or 72 blazing around and I forgot what it was. Shoulda written it down.

    A "71 or 72" what :Do No: ?

    Electra ?
    Riviera ?
    LeSabre ?
    Centurion ?
    Estate Wagon ?

Or maybe one of those little A-body Buicks ?

Chris already mentioned that film in post #5 of this thread (back in 2004), but thanks for posting it again ! :beer

It looks like a late 60's model to me, a 1969 Skylark Custom:

See a Buick GS in this movie twice. Most notiably at Archies when a door flies open and dents the Buick door.

My Buick Special was used in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead".
This is a Buick Special, Mo
del 46. You are correct, it is a riviera. Buick used the name riviera for their two door hard tops that had no "B" center pillars and were designed to look like a "hardtop" convertible. In 1963 Buick launched a new luxury sport coupe, called the Buick Riviera.
The "Movie Star" has original factory air conditioning and power steering. The air conditioner unit is in the trunk and air flows into the cabin through two clear plexi-glass wind tunnels. It has the original radio with tubes.
