Will these work on a 1970-1972 wheel?

The diameter inside of the tangs is 2.03" (the smallest point when engaged) and the overall diameter at the largest point is 2.95".

I measured the centers on my 1970 GS and the overall diameter at the largest point is 3.312". I do not have a 1970 wheel without a center, so I cannot measure the point where the tangs would engage. According to the website Buickcenters.com, these look correct for 1973 to 78 Skylark and others. The ones pictured to the left of the 1973 to 78 ones that are for 1971 to 72 look similar other than the silver versus black background, but they do not list any dimensions for any of the centers. Are you able to measure your wheels to see if these will fit with the dimensions I provided?

If not, I am leaving for Bowling Green tomorrow with a stop along the way. We will arrive on Wednesday afternoon and I will have these with me. Maybe someone will have a wheel that we can try it on so we can both see if they will fit.

No I'm not going to Bowling Green. Sorry about the late response, I didn't have my phone on me. My center caps have the same measurements as the ones you have. I only got one wheel so far and my caps don't fit, but I noticed in inner circle is not perfectly round (I'm using it for my spare tire). I'll have to find a set of wheels for sale that are near by me than figure it out from there. So don't save them for me. Good luck with the sale. Thank you for getting back with me.

No problem with the response time, we were driving all day. If they don’t sell in BG, I will either edit this thread or create a new one that will be the sale price plus whatever shipping is to the buyer.

I tried them on a 70 to 72 style wheel and they fit. I am at the track today if somebody wants them.

I guess the ones I have will also fit the 70 to 72 wheels too. I thought there might be different sizes for the same looking cap. Thank you for the information. Sorry I couldn't buy them from you. They should sell fast. GLWTS
