Treat it just like plastic headlight renew process... I have done tail light lens, park lens, Ect….

I've done a number of those.....time required depends on how deep the scratching is. Basically, you employ a wet sanding process and go from there.

Yep. Get some polish, find a good movie or some binge-watching and got on it.

Used to do aircraft canopy repair, and it's all in making sure you have removed the previous "grit" scratches, before moving to the next. (since optical clarity and visual distortion are not an issue).

So, start with the closest grit you can to the largest scratches to be removed then move up.

If you can start with 1500 and sand it until the finish is uniform and all scratches are removed (except the scratches of the grit you are working with), then move up to 2000 and work until all the 1500 scratches are gone, then move up again to 2500.

Once you get to 3000, you may be able to continue with the polishing compound or "plastic headlight restore" polish and then to the McGuires or other finishing polish.

Thanks guys. I had to save a similar plastic piece for another car before, and I ended up wetsanding it with 1500 and 2000,to make it all uniform, then I sprayed a clear on it. It actually turned out great, but I hate put any coating on because you can scratch it or damage it,if you are not careful. I would only cost something if it is not going to get touched.
