Why, why, why would a Honda nothing-Tec want to even pick on a v8? Why I ask you?

Ok, got the family in the Riviera cruising around in the beautiful weather. It was my 5 year old son's idea.

"yes a feeling of accomplishment made when my son engages is something enjoyable with dad - his little sister too." :TU:

So after getting gas and wondering down a highway toward the train tracks, boy likes trains too, to gander at those monstrous machines...

Honboy wonder comes right up on me in a two lane stretch and there was no one in front of us as we roll to a stop at the red light...

geez, I don't even need to go on ...you guys know what happens next :spank:

Honboy wonder blips his throttle...I think Honda's have a throttle? I don't know. His car made some sort of noise.

Mind you, I have the whole family and this guy has a whole lotta attitude.

I whisper sarcastically to myself "That spoiler adds like 200 horsepower. This should be a tight race."

I roll out easy through the intersection and guess what? Yup. Someone let out the angry hamsters.

    Really? :Dou:

    ...

    My wife laughs out loud.

    ...

I let the car breathe and then bark out second. Time must has stopped for Honboy wonder because my car warped into 50mph (the speed limit). From my observations he stood still. I don't think it is legal to be relatively stopped on a highway.:Smarty: But maybe relativity isn't considered in the description for traffic laws.

The kids giggled with not a clue as to what happened. They like it every time they get pushed back into the seat with daddy's "vroom vroom car"

I know I m a bad parent...endangering the life of a poor Honda owner by inducing a death blow to his pride, but it was fun for the whole family.

We then putz'd around the neighborhood at a blazing speed of idle and 1st gear for a few minutes letting the kids get outta the seat belts and ride dangerously on moms lap looking at some Halloween lights.

    Awesome night.

Nice! Sometimes I go hunting for ricers that want to play race car. Whenever I am lucky enough to come upon one in the correct place at the right time the look and sound of the Riv scares them off. Kids just dont wanna play with big boy toys!

    Sounds like fun.

I only hunt ricers with my minivan. :) I think a lot of people just want to hear and see the old monsters bellow. At least that's what happens to me. Someone will pull next to me with whatever and rev their motors with a big grin on their face.

Recently I was the loser--headed home from Cub Scouts in the '00 Volvo V70R (a modern family truckster, should be 15 second car). I pulled up beside one of my son's favorite cars--a new hemi Challenger. He blipped his a time or two; not at me just for fun I think. Pulled up on the converter a little, built a little boost, and nailed it on green. As soon as he realized we were racing he nailed it, barked second passing me and third as he pulled in front. His car sounded good, he had to work a little for it, and my son enjoyed hearing him.

Not sure what you call a five cylinder hp turbo awd wagon from Sweden--a meatballer?
