I ususally don't post kills anywhere but I figure you guys'll get a kick out of this one. So....here goes, I'm at home one fine evening when the phone rings. It's the local self appointed streetrace king, "I'm coming down to race you tonight." "Ok, I say." Time to get the Stage1 powered Nova prepped. Later that evening this dillweed shows up with his 415cube, 18 degree smallblock Chevy, nitrous sniffing, 9.97@134 mph et'ing, S10 truck, on a trailer. Followed by his entourage of at least 6 cars fully loaded with his witnesses to his royal highness whipping another victim. ..................WRONG.................... He unloads his truck. We agree where to do the deed. I start up my admittedly rowdy, yet still pump gas friendly, 455 Stage1 and head out. I arrive at the spot a little before him and proceed to turn on my bottle(nitrous can be a friend you know.) and purge the system. He does a burn out to warm his slicks. I do one to warm my ET streets. We line up. He hits the trans brake and mats the throttle. I foot brake to about 1400rpm. Flag mans arms drop and away we go. Slowly. I blow away my 28x13.50x15 ET streets and he roasts his slicks. Darn crap road. I immediately pedal the car and stay off the nitrous for now. He just lets tires cook I feel like she's recovering and punch the warp drive button. Bad move, more spin. Let off the button momentarily, short shift to second and am rewarded with the feeling of thrust as my tires grab bite. He's still spinning as he bangs his 4500 stalled powerglide to high gear. I go to the juice since I now know I have traction. He lifts for a blink. He was getting out of shape. He gets back in it. Too late. I'm 5 car lengths in front in the time it took him to stab and steer. Race is over since I have a higher trap speed than him('course he doesn't know that. hehe) I lift about 2 seconds after shifting to high gear since it's pointless to go any further. Might as well save the equipment. He's been removed from the royal family. He was very upset with me. I wonder if he was more mad that he lost in general or mad because a pump gas Buick 455 smacked him down.
I would have loved to have been there to see that! :Brow: So the "inferior" Buick beat an infamous smallblock....I love it. Be prepared.......now someone else with chebby power will step up to the plate wanting to race you just to try and regain the throne p
the thing here is everybody always quoates the best time there car has ever ran but that doesn't mean that it will run that all of the time.i have a queston for all of you witch is faster STOCK! a CUDA with a HEMI or a 440 six pack!buicks aren't inferiour they are expensive!
Nice kill. Bet his entourage wasn't very happy with him. Nothing like getting whupped in front of all your friends. ---------- Post added at 12:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:05 PM ---------- I believe it was the 440 six pack car...
Whichever car has the best driver, just like the race between the Buick powered and the Chevy powered car in the 1st post. Not kicking the Buick powered car but it reads to me like once the burnout contest was over, he's the one that finally got hooked up first. You can beat a Hemi with small block if there's an idiot behind the wheel of the Hemi car. I beat a new Shelby GT500 at the track with a 3,800lb, 350 sbc powered car because the dumba$$ couldn't drive it. Same thing happened against a Z06 Corvette. Put an experienced driver behind the wheel of either of those cars and they would have humiliated me, but it was a boatload of fun whoppin' their a$$es
the luftwaffe used n20 during WW2 for high aliditudesGM-1 was the name of the system maybee some speed crazed young gi brought the knowledge home so he could go fast!
They say mopar no car for a reason...buicks win them pinks...don't race a Buick and you'll keep the 440
