First let me get this straight. I want to start a website that serves as a directory for all those folks who are looking for parts can find a listing for their vehicle...at least a starting point. Does something like this already exist? It seems to me that there are loads of sites that advertise buick parts but never the ones I need. Would a site that lists all of these other sites be of use to us?

please reply to this thread or email me at smrtin17@aol.com

I think it would make a difference if there were enough parts companies, distributors, participants in on it.
If anyone steals my idea, I'm coming to get you:grin:

Truly, it would be nice to have a directory to all/most of the Buick parts suppliers available in one site so we can have a better chance at finding what we need.

    Just a thought...

It sounds like a good idea Adam. I don't know of any site that offers "one stop shopping". There are links to Buick suppliers on lots of sites but what you're proposing is one site for all the information? So maybe if I was looking for sheet metal parts there would be a listing of suppliers? Same thing for engine parts Etc. ?

Yes...it would take some time to compile a list like that but the end result would be worth a lot.

I have had loads of trouble trying to find sheet metal for my LeSabre...I don't think there's a place to find OEM or even repro parts like this for my car. There are just some things that can't be found, but I'd like to offer a good source for people like me to start at least.

I'm not saying I'll have everything, but I'd like to try.

You're right it will be a big job but with the experience of all the Buick people on this board you should be able to gets lots of suppliers names. Maybe a list for new parts and also used? Must be some wreckers out there who specialise in Buick, or at least who have a few around. Good luck.

I just registered the domain name.

    www.buickpartsdirectory.com

It's not even close to up yet, but I have LOTS of time to get it running. I will need the help of some of the people of this forum and others to compile a list of suppliers, etc.

From what I can forecast, everything is free. I think I might have an option for banner ads at the top of my page, just to pay the bills. But that's it. It may behoove some of the folks who are listed on my site to advertise, since there will be large numbers of vendors listed...and an ad at the top of the page will get you lots more hits and phone calls.

That would be really helpful alot of the time remembering all the sites that have parts can be hard anbd theres probably many good sites I have never heard of that might have parts i need. Good idea, I think your site would be very helpful for alot of people.

    nadakz,

thanks for the good word...it will take some time for me to get this going, but it will be a great reference once it is in full swing.

    ACC CARPET

I can't believe you listed ACC carpet and I noticed CAR Motorsports is no where to be found. Interesting. BTW, I've had ACC carpet and it faded out in less than 1 year. Very poor quality in my opinion. I have found and sell carpet from a FAR BETTER supplier. I know the owner personally and they care about having the best product.

Sorry Alan. I'll add you. But aside from window fuzzies, I don't know what you supply. I've visited your webpage and there is nothing there I would need. Don't forget, mine is primarily a (67-70) Riviera webpage.
