Since my '65 went up in flames 12 days ago, I controlled myself and only took 10 days to replace it.

As much as I loved my special and was finally getting it to where I wanted I didn't want to get another one exactly the same just yet so I decided to mix it up a bit and picked up a '71 Skylark.

Sad day but the start of a new adventure. Still keeping an eye out for another special though.

That looks like the one that was for sale in the Cookville area. Nice car and if it is it looked like a good deal from the ad on CL.

Too bad about the 65. What caused the fire?

It is, It's not as nice as the pics make it look but it's a start.. Right now it's a lot of little things to catch up on. She is a runner though.

Not sure and probably never know for sure.. As quick as it went up it had to be fuel, it was a fireball going down the interstate but it drove until I got off the interstate and parked it (I tried to get it as far from traffic/people as possible.) She was nice, interior was mint or better, dealer installed add on A/C just put a ton of work into her.

Well if you need some BBB parts for a project let me know (selfless plug here). Maybe we'll see each other around town. In the summer I sometimes make it out to the meet on Clinton Highway.

Once I get rid of some of the extra parts in my garage and make some room I'll be looking for some BB parts.. Hoping to swap it this winter and put my 350 in a 70's regal.

I usually cruise through the Clinton Hwy meet but don't usually stay, same old cars and same old people. I like the Foothills one a little better but I like diving more than sitting in a parking lot. I've been other places where the meets were more active where you show up and meet for a while , drive to another place and meet there for a while. I'm not much interested in sitting around a parking lot for hours.

I go to Clinton Hwy once or twice a year for pretty much the same reasons. The cars and coffee at West town mall is pretty good though, will try and make it this weekend. My eventual plan is to get my car ready for autox and hit some local events with it.

Cars and coffee is much better, I wish they would control parking better though. A lot of nice stuff gets lost in a sea of beaters... I can't make it this weekend as I'll be at Road Atlanta for the Motorcycle races. I've gone to the Auto-X at Pellessippi a few times (spectate not run)

New shoes for the 'lark. Wanted to stay classic but wanted to be able to get more modern sticky rubber under it. Not bad.[IMG]
