Took the '70 GS455 to the track against my buddies '72 GS455. This was my first time ever drag racing and he has been racing for 30 years. We both ran the Quadrajets. The weather was very hot and humid. I blew his doors off because he "couldn't get it to hook up". (When I saw the vid, he was spinning them for about a third of the track). I only ran a 13.1, but I left it in Drive and it only shifted at 4500. Guess I need to look at the governor. Was a lot of fun though!!!

Careful about this racing business. Its addictive and habit forming. I dont think theres a cure for it but there are support groups. This "drug" has been known to wreck marriages and peoples lives .001 sec at a time.

From where I'm sitting, 13.1 is a pretty respectable time - what MPH? What track did you run at?

I ran 103 and it was at Delmar Speedway in south Delaware. I agree it is a respectable time, but the previous owner had it in the 12.7's.. My buddy wants to have a rematch.
