Kinda fun story. Back when I came home from the air force my buddy had a 55 Ford F1 with a then low mile Wagon 455/TH400,all else stock. We were towing a small camping trailer and two dirt bikes in the bed. Heading west on sunset highway toward Seaside Oregon to our riding area we were followed by a 69LTD wagon on a long 2 lane had been pushing us for miles. We came to where the road goes uphill into the mountains and splits to 4. Here comes the wagon in the left lane, full throttle. My buddy let’s him pull along side and them matches him the rest of the way to the top end merge back to 2. A flick of the throttle and we left him. Almost as much fun as 3 days of dirt riding.
