On the aquamist car, every time I get in it, I feel like I'm sitting on the floor. I'm wondering if I can put some extra foam in the seat bottom? Or should I just buy new foams? Nothing wrong with the seat covers otherwise.
It might be that some of the springs are broken. The ones on the sides often break and will give you that effect when you sit on the seat. I just had to clamp those springs together on both seats for Gene Hills car. Duane
I think they do make reproduction springs for the buckets now, but you would need to buy and replace the entire spring assembly. The springs that broke on Gene's seats bend way out and then come back. The middle of the springs broke off, so I was able to "clamp" the two ends back together and give the seat sides the exact height they would have had originally. I "harvested" spring clamps from other old seats and used them to clamp the springs together. I have done this many times. With the amount of use our cars get now, it should last our lifetimes. I often do repairs to bucket seat springs, sometimes I have to take ones from other seats and put them in. That's what you had to do before all this stuff was reproduced. Duane
I was in the same boat. New Legendary springs, new foams from ACI and a new Legendary seat cover and I was back in business. https://www.ebay.com/itm/251222166666
It's fairly easy to remove the seat cover without damaging it and reinstalling. It doesn't take real long either.
