breather grommet painted or not ?

    is the breather rubber grommet on the valve cover painted or not on 70 gs 455 motor ? I have seen both ways

    All I can say is that u normally do not paint rubber. On my 350 there was no paint on the grommet.

    The one that was in there was painted but I don't know if it was original I have seen restored cars done both ways

    The grommet was installed prior to the engine getting painted. There are a few things that are painted- the top of the fuel pump, the oil filter, and Im fairly sure the bypass hose was red

    thanks Jason , that was what I thought was correct, but saw a nice restored gsx car on here, and it wasn't,, so just double checking , does look better not painted

    If we restored these cars the same way the factory built them, we would be laughed out of concours judging
