If I would have had a few more bucks in my pocket I would have bought it to run hard also. The thing went for less than you could build a good 425 for!

I do agree that if it is indeed a rare block, it would be nice to preserve it but where's the fun in that!

Thanks guys. Don't worry, I'll use a rev limiter. It'll be pulling more than screaming. Tom, I also saw those marks and am a bit concerned. It would be a shame to bore this block but we'll know more when it arrives.

I've also got a 671 514 BBF that I can put in if I decide to "Museum" the 425.

Porosity has me a bit concerned but they went to a lot of trouble to assemble a complete engine and I'm wondering if they would have done that with the mark plainly visible in the bore. I'll take a heap of pics to document it and will report back here once it arrives (in a month or so).

For me to land this engine in my shed in South Australia will have cost me about $6,000 Australian dollars (we expect to pay a lot for cool stuff down here). You guys could have gone to pick it up for less than $3,300 and from where I'm sitting - that was a bargain (as long as the bores are usable).

Still waiting to hear back from Joe as to what he found out about this block from Denny.

Bill, don't forget that some have sleeved cylinders on the NH before. The car would look the best with the Nail in it.Are you planning on dressing it up some or let it look stock(if you do use it in the car)?Good score and nice hotrod.

    Thanks Hector.

Sleeving would be a hassle and dissapointment. I'm hoping to avoid it. If they are "holes" it will be unavoidable though because this engine is too pristine not to use.

The excitement builds. I won't be seeing it for at least a month.

yep,,,, if you have to sleeve that puppy.... you will never know it, performance wise...and durability wise....what you dont want is a sand hole in a place where you cant sleeve and where you cant get to to weld up....

I emailed the seller and he says he knows the marks I'm referring to and that I will be very very very happy with the engine and he's sure that a hone will remove the "mark". If not, sleave it is.

Joe, have you heard back from Denny yet?
