Apologies if already asked.. I sure thought I has asked this question about 2wks ago, but cannot find a post. I ordered brake 3/16" line and have started to run the lines on my 71 skylark. I got to wondering if the line is the same diameter for the rear and front? Thinking it is, but before I bolt it all down to the frame thought I would double check with the experts.
Hey Steve... the frame lines are 3/16 across the front (2 of them) from the junction block/proportioning valve and a 1/4" to the rear hose, then into a block with 3/16 again to both rear wheels. The BLOCK is fed from the Master Cylinder by a 1/4 OD on the front and a 5/16 OD on the rear. At least thats what Ive found out so far. The top pic shows only ONE forward line installed with the 1/4 from the MC and the single 1/4 to the rear is yet unplumbed from the MC, Thats the 5/16" pc. The other 3/16 front goes to the top just in front of the switch. The old single rez MC on my 64 was a 1/4 to the T, and all the rest is 3/16. ws
