I have been told, I should box my lower rear control arms. Or strengthen them with some steel welded in.

Does anybody have advice on doing this or some pictures I could go by? This is about the last thing on the list before we go to the track.

I currently have the stock arms with 1" sway bar.

If you have a rear sway bar , how are you keeping it from crushing the arm? You can buy new after market, new stock replacement, used arms, or box in the onies you have. The kits are available from OPG or Year One. You take the arm off, clean it and prep for welding and weld the kit into the arm. This makes it like the OEM ones. Search this site and you will find more details.
Boxing does make the arms less subject to twist and flex.

The good kits have 2 U's in the strap that reinforce the bolt holes for the sway bar.

    Hi Mark,
Last year I welded in a pair of the plates readily available as noted above. Prior to this I made spacers for the inside of the arms from 1" Sch. 40 sttel pipe. These prevented the arms from collapsing when the bolts were tightened.

On another note the downshift cable arrived last week while I was away.
    Like new condition, much appreciated.

a small peice of conduit is all you need to keep them from crushing. tack weld the conduit in. and weld a piece of steel along the bottom about the same thickness as the factory piece.
