I have 41 individual video clips from 2014. It will take me a while to go through them. I can't do it right now but I will try to do it this weekend.
I remember that '71 GSX well - Was looking at it and talking to the owner one year (probably '88 ish) and the next year he'd painted the grill black - This was of course back when '71 Grilles were nearly impossible to find. 350/automatic car with a console IIRC.
I do remember a couple getting married there in '85 & riding in a car like that down the strip (I rememberthe GTO too). Was the first year I went. First time at or on a dragstrip - Ran low 16's in my bone stock '72 GS 350. '85 was the last year we shared the event at Beech Bend with another group (Muscle Car Shootout IIRC). Also the only year the show was held in the mall parking lot. I cut High school & drove 700 mi. ea. way w/my girlfriend (I'm sure out parents were thrilled) - Well, actually only drove about 350 back. Rolled the car on the way home.
I found a video of your dragster. Sorry, but it is not clear. I was having a problem with the autofocus on my camera when using it for videos. Probably half or more of the 41 video clips I took are out of focus. I will post it when I get it uploaded to You Tube. Will probably be tonight.
Couldn’t get to my can of pictures in the barn but here are a few oldies I had in the house. If anyone has a video of my mocked up as a rattle canned primer GSX (actually a true factory non a/c 3:64 Stage 1 4-speed car) making a run (early 1990’s) helping dry off the track back then, I’d about kill to get a copy (my buddy was asleep at the video cam).
