My father left me a 1964 Buick Electra convertible before he passed. One of the things he was happy to give me with the car was a new top in the box with bow pads etc. He bought that approx 15 years ago. I'm finally near the time to put the top on and when we took it all out for the box everything looked good except the foam filler in the bow pads turned to dust. I am thinking I could find some 1/4" foam and glue it in as a replacement. Is there anything else that could be used instead of foam? thanks, Larry
Pads aren't that expensive. If you are going with a new top install it is not worth it to cut corners.
expense isn't the issue.... time is. I don't have the time to wait for new ones to arrive before I need the car somewhere. The pads I have are brand new..... just the foam is bad.
