Time once again for the Portland, OR area BOP Picnic. Sunday August 3rd at Rooster Rock State Park. About 15 miles east of Portland on I-84 in the Columbia River gorge. This lowkey, laid back event is open to all Buick, Olds, Pontiac and GMCs. Of course we want more Buicks so we can once again claim the trophy for having the most cars attend. Hamburgers and hot dogs furnished but bring something else - salad, chips, dessert to share. Park on the grass in the shade and enjoy the day. Let me know if you want to caravan out - we usually meet at the Home Depot by the airport.
What time do you meet at the Home Depot? I am going to try to make it unless work tells me other wise.
Duke, Maybe you could post the time for meeting at the Home Depot. Are you considering changing your avatar?? Arland
We will meet at the Home Depot parking lot just off Airport Way right in the corner next to the old Goodguys/Compusa at 8:45 and leave by 9:00AM. This will get us out there before 9:30. Let me know if you are coming. Arland - I may do something with the avitar down the road. dukec
Did anyone get pictures of this event that they might be posting? As usual, I didn't plan ahead and scheduled something else for Sunday...when will I ever learn? o No:
Bret Thanks for posting the pictures. Once again Buick took the trophy for the largest group of cars present. Also a cool? Buick ended up on the dash plaque.:TU: If anyone is available we will have a special Buick only parking area this Wednesday at the weekly PIR/Beaches event. Bring your Buick and join us. :beer
Great pictures Bret, thank you! Man, alot of old ones, eh? Does anyone know about the lowered, primer grey one near the middle, like what model and year it is and who does it belong to? I must admit that my knowledge of pre-1960's Buicks is pretty limited. It's just got "the look", you know?
If I remember correctly it is a 36. It had a 401 and sat on a s-10 frame. I thought it was a pretty neat car. I don't recall the guys name, maybe Duke will remember. I found a pic of it from the back.
One of the neat things about the BOP is that you see cars and meet people you didn't know existed. That is the case with this car and owner - never saw either before. Maybe he will show up at the Regional in Brooks in a couple of weeks. If he does, I will try to get more info.
