I have a holley 850 on my 455. It had huge 88 primary and 90 secondary jets which was to much for the street in my opinion. I chaged the jets to 74 and 78 sec. My timing is set at 32 total. When I stomp on it from a dead stop the motor seems to bog for a second and then takes off like crazy. Do I need to adjust the fuel screws a little for more fuel at the primary or maybe bump the timing? I have no pinging with the 32 total timing. Any thoughts?

I am assuming it is a mechanical double pumper you have ....its probably off idle lean stumble...you need to adjust your pump shot squirters up in size until it goes away...OR you can just try using the different holes in the accelerator pump shot cams to change the shot profile ......Since you didnt mention that its not popping or backfiring up through the carb you are probably close and these adjustments will get rid of it....... ps most 850's I have bought come jetted 80 square from the factory.
