    Uncle Pauly SAY UNCLE!

Hello buick fans! Can anyone give me a heads up on where I might find old or repro trim parts for a 65 Skylark convertible(initially just door trim)? I am lost in a sea of ugly Chevy Crap.

    Thankyou for your time, Uncle.

That's sick! So far that's all I know I need, but I'll be hammering down my Buick deal in a week or so, and will have a better idea of what the car needs. Finally found what appears to be an awesome deal! I don't want to jinx it..... so that is all I'll say.

    Thanks, Uncle

    Ed,

If Pauly doesn't take it, I'm interested too.

    Hey Ed,

I almost forgot - your convertible looks right at home in Jim's shop. :Brow:

    parts

Greg, what parts do you need. I will be in Bismarck in a couple of weeks. Maybe we can hook up. The lst time I was there the lights in Applebees went out for over a hour. I think it was the end of August and you had the tornados out west.

Yea, the vert was there to pull the chevy and now the body work begins. It will be ready in May at the latest.

Do you know who has the 66/67 skylark vert that is for sell in Bismarck now?
    see ya

    Hi Ed,

Yes, I know the car and the owner. He sits just a few desks away from me here at work! He's a good guy, real likable. I've even had him over to my house a few times to play cards. You don't need to worry about whether he's lying to you to get the car sold. He'll be totally honest with you on anything you ask. At worst, he may not know the answer since he didn't build the car.

The car is very rebuildable. I didn't notice any evidence of rust, its mostly straight, etc.

Personally, I'm too picky about my rides to run it as is though... (that's a wisecrack for Troy he knows what a total POS I drive to work. ) Honestly, it could easily be driven and enjoyed as it is.

It has a few neat items the buckets & console with a working factory tach, tissue dispenser, rallye's, 67 GS hood scoops... seems like there was another, but I'm drawing a blank.

The big question on the car really falls on how much you care about originality. Its supposed to be white with a blue interior. The black interior it currently has is in decent shape. Some of the paint on the plastic parts has worn enough to see the blue starting to show through, but that'd be easy to redo. The seat covers, door panels, etc. are all nice. Not original material or pattern, but still nice in appearance.

As for the paint, there's a few imperfections here & there like a small run or a scratch, etc. The right rear quarter is in redcap primer and shows previous putty work, although I think the panel itself can be saved. The top, as he said in the ad, is bad. I don't remember if the mechanism itself works or not.

The engine is a Buick 350. I helped try to ID it for him, but its in 'disguise'. Where the two-letter block code should be stamped on the deck surface, it simply has "350". The intake is a 70 unit if I remember correctly and the carb is an 800 cfm. We didn't pull the valve covers to check casting codes as we didn't want to break the seal if we didn't have to. We ran out of daylight before checking the trans codes. The engine is wearing a fresh coat of Buick Red.

Like I said, its a nice driver. A little work on the rear quarter & a respray and it'd be very presentable. For a guy wanting a convertible, its tempted me a few times. Stop on out & take a look. While you're here I'll buy lunch. Depending on the time, I'll buy the :beer
