We'll fellas, I think I'm going to be in need of a new front fender and possibly a front bumper... The 'ol girl did that annoying thing where back end tries to get around ahead of the front end and I hit a sapling on the side of the road.

I'm working on finding some NOS parts, but can anyone give me a head start on a good source for such a rare beast? Or, in case that doesn't work out, does anyone here have any experience with reproduction panels? Are there any brands that are better than others?

I don't suppose I'd be so luck that a '67 chevelle fender crosses over?

There are no reproductions,...NOS will be all but impossible to find and VERY expensive,...you will either be getting a used fender or fixing that one,..and no ..that's a one year application iirc,....the 66 is different there by the bumper and no a Chevelle doesn't crossover

The bumper can be fixed & then re-chromed.
I would have someone capable to fix the fender which I believe can be saved even though it has been repaired previously.

Thanks a lot for all of the info! I've left the car with a local restoration shop and am hoping they are able to repair the bumper and the hood. He's already told me that he is unable to do the bumper, so I'll keep looking for local solutions to getting that straightened and re-chromed.

    Thanks again,

That fender looks to be fixable from here. I would be nervous about the filler thats already on it. Hopefully it hasn't had collision or rust repair in the past already.

Send the bumper to Tr-City Plating in Tennessee. They can get it straight and plate it for you.

Fender is repairable but you did a number on it,...it would take some work to get it back out

Thanks a lot Matt. I'll reach out to Tri-City Plating and see what I can find out. My restoration guy still has the car and currently thinks he can repair the fender, but we're still trying to find a solution for this bumper.

66 fender does swap. i have a 67 fender on my 66. however the skylark and gs fender in 66 will have a hole about 3x5 in size for the louvers. could be welded up pretty easy. a special or special deluxe will not have that. a deluxe will have 6 small screw holes for there trim. a 66 and 67 share the same body shell doors and fenders. the hood grill bumpers trunk lid and the rear pan are different. same dash as well but different emblems and steering column and steering wheel. a 67 frame is unique to one year but you can use a 64-66 frame on a 67. only difference is the rear spring how they pigtail in. its very minor difference.
