The blower switch in my 72 Skylark stopped working properly. I disassembled the dash to replace it, and discovered that the connector had partially melted. So, I'm looking for a working switch and a connector with some wire that I can splice onto what's already in my car. If you have any leads on either of these parts, it is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I have some of those parts, shoot me a photo to make sure I have the right one.I will not be here from Thursday to Sunday.Bruno.
Derrin, the problem is that all the amperage for the motor runs through the switch and melts them. There's a neat way to wire it all up with a relay and made even easier if you have PW. I'm sure you could figure it out, but I'll post a link to a site where someone did it. Maybe we can get together next week. Been hectic.
Bruno, I have a lead on the parts I need and should know in a day or so. Dano, I’ll check it out! I’m guessing only the higher speed(s) need relays. I also need to double check my aftermarket AC wiring to make sure that relay that provides power to the whole system (the compressor) is wired correctly.
Bruno, I was able to get a blower switch, but not the harness. Do you have a piece of the harness that would connect to the blower switch? I'd only need the connector and a few inches of wire to splice in to my harness. Here's what the connector looks like: https://www.oldairproducts.com/product/50-0501-harness-repair-kit Thanks!
The switch I had lined up appears to have fallen through, as the one he found seems to be for an A/C car, and I need one for a heater-only car. The A/C switch has vacuum attachments, and the heater-only switch does not. Does anyone have one they can spare?
