.......hmmmm. No Job, no money for stupid purchases, yet has money for vacation, but no money for ACTUAL shipping on free parts.

I think with no job and if money is that tight, you simply don't spend anything on a non-essential car and you certainly don't go on vacation. I don't mean to get into your personal life, but if you got money for vacation.....you got money to pay actual shipping on free parts.

Definately sounds like a "The world owes me".

 

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to the members of this forum for their support. Surprisingly the only challenge came from Jacob himself, usually some one else will defend a guy (like him) just to be fair.

What a shame, I don't know how I would have gotten full trim, door panels 4bbl intakes and gauges for free without this site. Oh wait I have friends, in the real world.

Oh sure vacations are lavish, staying with family in queens is expensive, and this car really killed me with having no bills to pay and all.

You guys are quick to judge others as good and bad when you never even met them before. All I can say is I'll see you at the track:grin: Maybe I'll lose control and hit the wall because of all the rust like Lee said

If I hadn't gotten a nasty impatient attitude this probably would have went better. But I stand my ground and will look to the real world for advice rather than a group of desk chair racers. Not that all of you here are bad but I am sure there are plenty who just spend 40k on a car to let it sit in a garage. I think I'll go take my death trap for a spin.

Kid, you will never find more real world than on here when it comes to Buicks.
Look around at the guys that to top tier restorations on here, the guys that build race cars that are on here, the guys that have owned and built more Buicks than you will ever see.

You could talk to all your friends in your hood, read every book on the subject, and learn by trial and error for many many years to learn what you can get on here by asking someone one question.

As for the guys that spend $40,000 on a car and let it sit in a garage, they may have something that you can learn from them also.
They didn't get to the point of being able to have a $40,000 car (many are way more) to decorate the garage without making a lot of right decisions in life.

Maybe some day you will look back and be embarrassed by all of this.

Hey Phoenix350, you need to grow up and get some manners.

Your folks did a piss poor job bringing you up.

If one of my kids pulled this crap, they would get an attitude adjustment real quick.

Never piss on the folks who come to help you. It is not a good strategy.

 

It seems that many transactions though message boards end with very hurt feelings. Although only two people are involved, everyone takes sides and in most cases the judgement for or against is one-sided. For example, I was once chastised for chiming in on somebody's trailer deal that went bust. In another case on another Buick board, I was slaughtered for saying that I would sell a particular part on ebay in order to make it fair for everyone. In this case, two sides cannot agree on $9. Wow... I'm not even going to get into whose at fault in this case because I don't know, but I've sure developed the attitude that commerce on a message board, any message board, is an activity that should be avoided at all costs. It's too much trouble with too many crybabies involved (you get to pick who's the crybaby in this case, I can't tell). :ball:

 

I don't think any more productive can come out of this discussion, I think it's time to lock this thread and the other one.

 

Sorry Sportwagon, I don't agree. This horse is not dead yet. We need to beat this rascal until it's clear that someone has won and someone has lost. For crying out loud, $9 is at stake!!!!!!! Can't you see that?!!!!!! It's a whole $9!!!!!!! Someone has to win and someone has to loose. Its just the way of the message board. Its not over yet. First off the parts were FREE FREE FREE. Second you guessed at the price on shipping, YOU WERE WRONG. Third, you're looking like an idiot here, MAN UP pay him and apologize for being an a$$hole....................I'm done with this rant....I think...... Oh did I mention the parts were FREE.
