The pulley bolts to the center section of the balancer. The outer section of the balancer is separated from the inner section by rubber. The rubber tends to deteriorate over time. If the two sections become misaligned, the balancer can appear to wobble.
Yep that's warped lol. We had some nice weather up here today so I uncovered the Riv and fired it up. While I was looking around under the hood I watched my pulley/crank spinning enjoying a nice cold beer! While doing so I came to the conclusion that my balancer and crank spun straight as an arrow but the pulley wobbles. So I may have to order me up an aluminum pulley as well
The Fix= tighten damper and install aluminum pulley. Note: the aluminum pulley i bought is 5.5" diameter ( much smaller than stock) 3-V grooves all same size. I needed to open up 3 of the bolt holes a small amount on the new pulley. Cheers!
Don't under-speed the alternator, water pump, power steering, and A/C. I see problems ahead with a too-small crank pulley.
I'm pretty sure TA sells the correct size pulley in aluminum? Got any pics of yours installed by chance?
