Title says it all, almost. Looking for a batwing steering wheel, I don't really care what color. Let me know what you have... Thanks!!
pardon my ignorance but what is a 'bat wing' steering wheel. Heard the 1967 air cleaners called that but steering wheel is new to me.
Chuck, this is what I was referring to. It may actually be known by another name, but to me, it's a "batwing!" It may have been a '71 only and it may have only been available in black, and that's ok with me.
The base-model Oldsmobile’s,like the F85’s had them. The only difference was the center emblem. I believe they were available from 69-72. I know 70-72 for sure. Colors too.
I might have a green one. Can't remember if I tossed it. If so, you can have it and there wouldn't be any shipping since were practically neighbors. I'll have to check when I go to my shop & if so I'll bring it home.
OK, thanks for the clarification, I am so focused on 1967 GS400's that I am lacking in knowledge of 68-72 models.
Standard on '70-72 Skylark/GS, exc. in '70, the Deluxe Wheel was standard on GS 455 and prob. Skylark Custom (?) and it was avail. in different colors.
I cant make any promises, but I did see this one on a 69 Buick Special at Butlers Auto Recycling I believe their phone numbers are either 866-973-7278 or 850-474-8828
Butler's is down in Florida, right? Any one close enough to go and check on that steering wheel? Just remember, I probably don't want to pay more than $25-35. A lot of the junk yards I used to go to didn't like to sell a wheel off of a column. They wanted to be able to sell it as a package deal. Maybe things have changed now. Thanks for the replies everyone! I appreciate it!!
I looked yesterday and didn't see it where I thought I'd be, but will check around some more. Maybe I tossed it and if so it would've been many years ago, but seems like I saw it not all that long ago.
Bump.....I would like to purchase one in good shape ( green in color with no cracks would be awesome..... however......pickers can't be choosers !!!) Please let me know what you have. Thanks,
