The barn find sequential vin number Gn's are for sale on Ebay. Bid to 88K already. Wish they were mine or I could afford to buy them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Buick-Grand-National/253409962140?_mwBanner=1
Isn't it the 2 cars that was written about some time ago, where a board member knew the guy who ended up buying them? One of them smelled of cat pie if I remember correctly.. Asking price then was $100K, but apparently sold for half?
I cant help but every time I see a photo of a "barn find" that the cars and tires look in that good a shape. I always picture some guy with a bag of flower walking around the car just throwing flower into the air to simulate years of dust accumulation for a photo op. Still awesome cars regardless and hope one day to own a GN!
Around $80-90K each because of very low mileage and they're sisters. The guy that sold them several years ago got screwed because of 2 things, very bad economy(timing) and also didn't let the World know they were for sale, so he got only $50k for the pair I believe.
These were purchased by the current owner between 2016-2017, when the GN market really soared. He got a steal in an already good economy. I think between 160-180K for the pair is what they are worth as well.
I was talking about the Origin of the cars which I thought was 5-6 years ago,, and if it was just last year then, well........ the guy really got screwed!
Both X's, both under 1k miles, cant drive them, so the fun is only sitting in or looking at them. Maybe Jay Leno will write the check! Rather have one to blast around in......
Every mile that clicks over on that odometer decreases the value, plus they will eventually need all of the rubber lines and fluids changed since the cars have been barely used in 30 years. At the end of the day, the trickle down effect will result in less original examples.
Just looked at current bid of $205,000. I guess if you can afford two cars that you will never drive so you can have conversation pieces. And one smells like cat pie or pee? Either way, not good.
Yup, my 03 Z06 has 7,5k on it now with the original tires, Way too easy to spin and probably dangerous at or over 100+. Compound getting dry & hard after 15 years! They spin easier than they used to......now add on 15 more years to those GNX"s and look out! You need all rubber replaced, ruining the "real" originality.
They’re not GNXs; they’re GNs. Huge difference in price. As GNs with low mileage and sequential VINs they’re cool, but not $100k each cool. In my opinion. Patrick
Here is the reality of it as far as miles vs price. https://savannah.craigslist.org/cto/d/grand-national-1987-buick/6467124768.html I agree....and what difference does it make that the VINS are sequential unless they were the first two or the last two. Buy a few more miles and enjoy the car for a fraction of the price.
Just go ahead and pick in the foreigners.. Didn't catch it before you made me aware, but of cause it was cat pee, and not cat pie it smelled off.. Also made me wonder, I know dogs are being eaten in Asian countries, but how about cats? Cat pie could actual exist..
