Anyone know if a Backing plate form a '63 Riv will fit on a '65?
Will a big car Backing plate fit? These are for the front drum. Thanks Ian

Just wondering whats wrong with your backing plate that you are replacing it
are the "pads" (raised spots where the shoes move back and forth) worn down?
The ones on my 65 have worn spots and I was told that you can build them up by welding or JB weld then machining them smooth
I though of trying marglass but I dont know if the hight temp greese I use would soften the marglass up

In the picture I put a little high-temp grease so the shoes will move in and out smoother

Actually someone was selling a set of front drums and backing plates so I was wondering if they fit? The seller said there was a difference in the steering set-up between 63 and 64,65 and they wouldn't fit.
They also say the spindles on a 65 are unique as well. Thanks Ian
