The company I work for is headquartered in Syracuse. I make the trip out every quarter. I've been wanting to stop at Autogear for a couple years and I finally got the chance. Very cool place with a great staff. I had an hour or so to kill in the morning so i walked in the door about 8 unannounced. I was planning on having a quick look around and leaving but they were happy to give me a tour. Nate showed me around and gave me a sneak peak as to what is coming. There is a new case on the way that is much beefier than the current offering. Some other upgrades to the shafts and 36 available gear ratios. He was a really funny guy who has a good handle on the car scene.

The most exciting new product is a new 4 speed shifter. Evidently the quality of the shifter brand we all know and love has tanked in the last few years and it is causing all sorts of trouble for them. George, the owner/ head engineer, is solving that problem by creating his own shifter. I talked with him for 5 minutes or so. Very down to earth and humble kind of guy.

If you are a 4 speed freak and in the area it's well worth the stop!

Interesting to hear about the shifter. My brand new "brand we all know" is giving me fits getting stuck in second on my brand new autogear M23.....

That brand we all know has been bought and sold a dozen times over and QC is in the tank... that or guys are slapping a 50 year old shifter from daddy's old hot rod on a new unit and having shifting problems.. the new shifter should be out soon. It should fit with out huge floor pan mods. No hacking like the vertigate shifters

The Auto gear piece will be nice I'm sure, another option is a Johnny Hightower shifter
