Hurray!! Not extinct after all!! :) (Re: Auto speaker "bars" )

Hi Christian and V-8 Buick wagon audiophiles,

    Hey great!! :TU:

Thank you very much Christian!! [IMG]

The main reason I asked this question was just in case there was a newer model with better speakers in it. This unit looks a lot better than the one I have in my trusty wagon right now.

I got my trusty wagon out on the road today and really enjoyed listening to Vienna waltz music mostly because the speaker bar provides a nice symphonic effect. So, if there is something I would like to improve, it's the sound in the back.

Hurray for V-8 Buick!! You fellers come through every time!! :TU:

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

Yes, not hard to build either. (Re: Auto speaker "bars")

Dear nekkidhillbilly and V-8 Buick audiophiles,

Yes, you are absolutely correct. I was also tossing that idea around since I have to have the headliner replaced after 48 years of hard service. As suggested earlier in this thread, what is needed is either an aluminum, steel or fiberglass support bow and you can more or less mount anything you like on that.

However, this unit looks like an attractive package for $110 bucks. You need to still come up with speakers and a 3-way bass-reflex tuned speaker system, hmm . . . . . Certainly a competitive package. So I need to do some checking to see exactly what sort of speakers are in this bar.

    However, it does have one fatal flaw . . . . . . a Corvette logo!!
    Oh the shame!! :Dou:

Fortunately, it shouldn't be too hard to Buick-ify it!!

    Cheers, Edouard :beer
