looking to convert my bench seat column shift 69 buick wildcat to a factory floor shift so I am looking for the console and horseshoe style shifter assembly.

if anyone has the steering column for a floor shift car i am also interested in that as well.
    thanks Gord

i believe the auto floor shift from an A body 68-69 is the same as the Big car so that would probably work for me and more common than a B body car.

    Gord,
If he still has it "Ryans-GSX" has a rarely seen Buick Wildcat auto on floor console.

Hey Ryan, I had a 70 Cat with console, I thought it was same as A-body, if it was different what was different?

For one thing the 68/69 doesn’t show the gear indicator in the speedo, and the shifter/console has a plate that is backlit under the horseshoe to indicate what gear you are in at night. The 70+ year console would work and do look similar. I do have a factory bucket seat 69 floor auto console shift cat with build sheet although I believe it’s a late build because the buckets have the release button in the middle of the seat back, not on the side of the seat as a 69 should.

I am converting my bench seat column shift 69 cat to buckets with floor shift and had a guy build me a 4 corner wilwood disc brake kit.

FYI my bucket seat cat has factory front discs as well and the replacement parts are unobtainable. Gordon

P3250016.JPG I will likely have a spare console and shifter minus the linkages from a 68 Wildcat. Don't know if that will help. It's also missing the trim plate around the shifter. P3260001.JPG P3260001.JPG P3250015.JPG

That’s interesting, Gary I stand corrected, the 68 is not the same as the 69 which had the horseshoe shifter.

    HI Gord

If you want some consoles for parts, I have two that are incomplete. They are rough, so I am, asking $75.00 for the pair, plus the ride from Ottawa. The black schnoo in the first image flakes off. It looks like something melted and dripped on the console.

Do you think the shifter and handle would be the same as the Riviera?

Hello Randy, consider them sold I will take them for parts, my wife is going to Ottawa in a month or so to visit her sister. I’ll get someone to come find you for pickup and bring you some cash. Thanks for replying and I’ve got a few more leads so should be able to make a good one for the wildcat, Gord
