For those intrested Picnic: When: December 9th 2006 Location: Bull Creek Park - Austin, TX Time: 11:30 am till 4pm This is a bring your own food event. If you have friends that have BOP cars they are invited also... See ya there!
That is a great picnic. Here is a link to few photos from the last time we had it: http://www.texas442.com/BOP/
Only 10 days to go! All cool cars and people are invited.. we have had 'Vettes, Vipers and all kinds of sundry folks show up! I will have plenty of grill space (and a few culinary surprises), so bring something to cook and we will have a great time! The 'Cat will have it's new shoes :Brow: and I should have my new truck too... See ya'll there! Frank
I am excited about this, but I am concerned that it is just going to be Frank and I with cars. Anyone else??? Frank, did the wheels aready get here? They look good? Your car is gonna look totally different with that change. Very cool.
The wheels are here. I talked to Phil; he said the turnout should be good. I'll forward the email... My new truck should be here next week too!
Anyone know any Lone Star GTO club members that could come to make it more of a BOP event. I know the 442 & Olds people are always invited and welcomed, just wondered if anyone knows any GTO people. :TU:
Austin newebie Should probably do an intro. on the "big board", but I hope to be there next Sat. Phil has been kind enough to post my car on the AAB site. I'm stoked to get a chance to meet fellow Buick freaks! "The other" Frank B. in Austin
"the other" Frank, welcome to V8 Buick and to the Austin Area Buicks! I just checked out the Rivi on the site and it looks nice. I hope you can make it next weekend. Look forward to meeting you, and checking out that car... :beer
I plan to be there with the 442. I will try to stir up the Pontiac guys and get them out there. That is my favorate picnic to go to.
food and weather update Just so everybody knows, I will have a pretty big grill/smoker at the picnic, (there is a pic of it in this thread) and utensils, and I love to cook. (Those who have met me are NOT surprised LOL). There is plenty of room to cook anything, so don't be shy! Just bring your favorite grillable thing, and voila, enjoy! The weather looks great , according to this forecast, so everybody come out and bring your friends!! Frank
Frank would you mind explaining or posting a map of the entrance for the guys so they do not have to cross the creek. I do not know the name of the road for the second entrance to bull creek. Thanks :TU:
it is best to use the south entrance to the park thru Lakewood drive off FM2222 & Loop360. If you use the north entrance, then you will have to drive thru a low water crossing
I'll be there, doesn't look like I'll have a buick to bring by then, so I'll probably have the Z06 with me. If the weather ever warms up I might have a chance to wash it too...
Hey Chris, My 18 year old son Andrew will be with me (driving the Wildcat) at the picnic. His dream car is a C5 Z06. He says he will have one some day (I've always been a Corvette nut too). Maybe if everything comes together you can take him for a ride with you for a sec. Is that possible? Frank
