    Uh Oh is right

    WOW.....MIKE! That's unbelievable.

Maybe I need to reconsider the 68-69 parts I have in process (Floor console shifter bar, tail light lenses, trunk molding, etc.). Of course, maybe its Buicks in general and not just 68-69 stuff. So far, I've got about 5 people actually committed to purchase the 70 reproduction GS lenses. During the process, I had about 50 or more people say they wanted them yesterday because they were tired of the $300 to $350 ebay prices being paid to Originality Plus for NOS lenses. Perfect reproduction, Gaskets included and $100 cheaper........only 5 buyers.

    SIGH.........

Thanks Alan for the support. I am starting to become upset a little since I know in my garage sets about 15K in inventory now!! I also am glad Im one of the 5 that have prepaid for the lenses!! I have a freind that will be buying a set also from you I will call him now!!:spank:

  4. I agree, it is disturbing that you aren't getting much response. I checked off for a right side only. And not that I can answer your question: "I have an example in great shape what I need to know is weather the right and left sides are the same only mirrored?"... but the question has me a little confused. If you have a good example core, I guess I must be ignorant, I don't understand why you can't ascertain that from your example? I have no idea what the answer is.

Michael, what kind of commitment #'s are you looking for, before you would be able to proceed with this?

    You gotta be sh*ttin' me!

Come on guys...:af: ... I remember ALOT of guys saying they wanted these....it's time to pony up and support these guys that are using THEIR cash to make parts for YOUR cars!. Garrison makes some excellent stuff....150% top notch! Alan's stuff is better than NOS stuff thats been sitting for years getting brittle.
If we don't support these parts and the guys sticking their necks out, we won't have an other parts like grilles and park lenses!!
I know it's Christmas time........ Have the wife buy a set for you as a present! If you think the tail light lenses are too expensive, just think what they will be like in 5 or 10 years trying to find a used pair, or for that matter NOS if Alan does not decide he can sell these.

If you guys want to see grilles........ it takes committment! :Smarty:

Ouch. Have you been able to contact those 50 odd persons directly? Or are you relying mostly on the board posting? I don't recall seeing it, did you post your orders request on the BPC list too?

ALso I need to know if ,under the headlights it is a straight panel at the curve (horizontilly) or does it bulge ?? I cant tell by my section I have (it was slightly damaged but rust free)

    Thanks

    Times are tough for some

Perhaps the timing isn't the best.

Many, many people have lost their jobs in the last year or two.

I believe unemployment hasn't been this high in over a decade.

Please don't take a less than overwheming reaction to new parts personal.

Christmas will come and go, the economy will rebound, and paying customers will come running. (IMHO)

    Please don't be discouraged

    :)

    Good luck.

    PS

Put me down for an overflow bottle and 71 Grille.:beer

Sad but true Mike. I just got another call from Mike G's friend I bet. I haven't sent an email to the BPC mail list because I had to get off the list for a while and forgot to sign back up.

BTW, I'm not looking for payment right now, just people willing to commit by providing a form of payment when the time comes. Generally, its my understanding people willing to give you a CC actually are willing to purchase when the time comes.

Alan, We tried to call you today and order a set, but got an "all lines are busy message" for a while and left our name and number. I guess if we don't hear back from you, we will try again to order them on monday. You have a set sold to me, we just have to contact each other so we can excange information. Consider it 6 sets sold by monday.

I may be interested! I am not quite sure what part you are talking about though. My GS is rotted on the passenger side, the battery tray is all but gone as well as the support underneath. I have a piece of plywood in there for the battery to sit on. Is this something your core support would help with? Forgive my ignorance.

    Thanks,
    Dan

OK Al, if I called you and pre-ordered a set so to speak, when do you think this will take place. Anything before Jan 1st would be tough. It seems as if some around here think everybody should be able come up with the cash at willl. It does not work like that. Right now I am on a limited budget, so I get buy as well I can. I WILL get a set of these, but this is the worst time of the year. And I am not married, and my parents are not rich. After Jan 1st would be much better. :)

dwbuick - yes, the core support is the panel under the battery that extends to the headlights.

unfortunately, if that's rotten, more often then not the inner fender is damaged, too. mine isn't visible from inside the well, but the front lip is nice and rusty.

    Mike,

Are you making a kit just like your 70-72 Kit, with the passenger side inner fender patch and the core support piece?

I have yet to see a core support be rotted, without taking the inner fender front with it.

And yes, I need these parts.

These will be simular to the 70-72 kits yes however the coresupports are different in alot of ways. I was over to the computer GURU 's house so he and I could go over the section I have. I will concider the wheel house patch after I have the core support kit out. I can see about making another steel stamp:eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

If anyone has a decent not bent or rusted very badly core support out of a car AND has a Digital camera we need to talk email me your phone number so I can have some pictures taken and sent to me Thanks

    Mike,
My core support is sill in my car and I really don't know if the 2 sides mirror each other, I just feel confidant that I'll endup needing a right side when the time comes along
