Six weeks ago, I signed up with AT&T U-verse tv, internet, and home phone for $99 a month, I already had U-verse internet and home phone, so they only charged $35 for installation, not the $100 that they usually charge. I got my first bill-$261.62. I went back to the AT&T store the next day and the guy said that the didn't bundle it and he would take care of it. The next day, I get an email from AT&T for $157, but it states that this is not a bill, just an estimate of my next bill. I called AT&T and was transferred 5x to people that just rattle off the same numbers. The best that I can tell is that my bill will be $131 plus fees of $26 which comes to $157. I explained that I signed up for $99 a month, but they just keep rattling off numbers that come to $157 a month. I understand that the first bill is actually for a month and a half plus a $35 installation charge, but there's no way that this comes to $262. I went back to the store Tuesday and the guy that sold it to me wasn't in so the other guy took my information that it would be corrected the next day. I have in writing from the guy that sold me the package that my bill should be $110-$115. My bill is due Monday and I pay by mail so even if they correct the bill today, (which they won't), it will be late and a $9.00 late fee will be charged. Anybody have any advise for me (that won't land me in jail) when I go back up to the AT&T store.

Your bill should itemize the charges. What does it say?
Some plans may be internet sales only. If you phone an order in, it may be a different price.
Here's on web page describing the $99 bundle:
    https://www.reviews.org/internet-service/att-u-verse-internet-review/

It mentions first month fees of:
$20 delivery, $35 activation, and $99 installation fees. Add that to your bundle price of $89.99, and your first month’s bill is at least $245, plus taxes.

I understand that there are fees and that the first bill will be higher, but they are telling me that my future bills will be $157 a month. My sister signed up with this same plan several months ago and her monthly bill is $112.40.

That's what I want to do, but then I have no internet or phone. That makes it kind of difficult to sign up with another carrier.

Well, I went to the AT&T store and spoke with the manager. He said that $99 special is for new customers, but I don't see that anywhere in the ad, plus I am a new U-verse tv customer. He gave me a $99 credit, took off the $35 installation fee, and said my bills will be $126.40 a month for two years. So no shots fired and I'm happy with the bill!

I won't do business with AT&T. Years ago I had a cell phone plan with them so I could keep in touch with my teenager. I grounded my teenager for several weekends for not answering the phone and evading me. WRONG! It was the carrier, AT&T who was not putting the calls through. I asked them to fix it. The rep wanted to upgrade my plan. I asked if that would resolve the dropped calls and she said no. Now why would I want to upgrade? I told her that if she could not resolve the issue that I would cancel the deal. AT&T never fixed the problem, instead of addressing the issue they put me into collections. Great customer service, huh? And you are getting the same dirty end of the stick 12 years after I did. SCREW AT&T ! ! ! They suck big time! I would definitely give them their stuff back and find another provider.

And why aren't your bills the $99 a month you were quoted? That is called false advertising and bait and switch my friend. 26.40 x 24 = 633.60. Are you still happy that you are over paying $600? The AT&T rep gets paid commissions and he is laughing behind your back as you read this. My nephew used top work for Verizon and he told me about the scams that they pull when you walk into the store. TRUST NO ONE.

Hate ATT. I have to use them for u-verse or no internet.
    They are scammers, cheaters.
I get my phone service elsewhere.

I've had (2) at&t land lines at my business for the past 31 years. Went with various plans and ended up with a plan that had an average monthly bill of around $90.00. The plan would carry over every year until this year when they decided to do away with it. I spoke to a rep over the phone back in June and went with their cheapest new plan that had less features than my last plan and it ended up being about $109 a month. I wasn't happy but figured everything has gone up over the years. Then the latest bill shows up 3 months into it and it goes up to $143. So I call them and the rep's response was that they just had a price increase and he could do nothing for me. After airing my dissatisfaction he came up with a way to bring my monthly bills back down to "$111-$112 Out The Door" which included all taxes and misc charges. I told him that would work, ... and within 5 seconds he changed it to "$136 Out The Door". I let him know how ridiculous that was and after refreshing his memory that the phone call is recorded he came clean and admitted to misquoting me. I then told him that I was ready to cancel both my business lines as well as my home internet-phone-and uverse. He said that would be fine and to let him know if I wanted to keep my phone numbers and have them transferred. That's all I needed to hear before requesting a supervisor. I ended up with a fairly decent guy that worked out a plan that dropped my second line (only used for faxing which is outdated anyway) and had unlimited long distance for $68 per month. That was this Tuesday, .... on Thursday I got a letter from Spectrum in the mail with an offer of the same plan as at&t for $23 per month which includes all taxes and charges as well as unlimited long distance for one year without a contract . They also mentioned they could keep my existing number. I have until November 8th to decide. If I cancel at&t at this time they want to charge me $7.50 per month for the 11 months remaining on the current agreement. This is all a silly pain in the neck. I'm fed up with at&t as well!!

Shortly after I bought my 1st house called up Medicom to have cable installed. I had received a flyer for free installation if I subscribed to HBO for 6 months. Guy came and walked around the house and inside and said it would be $100.00 for him to install cable in my new house as it had never had been wired for cable. I showed him the FREE INSTALLATION part of the flyer. He said it only applied to installing HBO (which wasn't stated on the flyer) and installation of HBO only required him to flip a switch somewhere. Told him to leave before he did any work.

They use to send salesmen to my house and called me to try and switch to Mediacom (got DISH instead) and I would give them an ear full of my experience and what I thought of their untruthful advertising program.
