Deal Looking forward to it. My car is in heavy slumber mode in a heated shead north of town. It will be there until April. kg
Kevin, You should stop by sometime this winter and have a beverage in the shop. :beer You could stop by with the car when the weather gets warmer. "Whoa!!! Watch that damn belt buckle mister! Looking sharp!" Mark, ok I admit it - that was a totally staged shot!
yeah, yeah, yeah....It is the principal of the matter for the youth who view the page! Only experienced makes one cringe on that:beers2:
Jared, I transferred all my files to my laptop, and I found the large files of that art. It was drawn by Mark Balfe, who created monster car art for Ed Roth during a 6 or 7 year period in the 80s/90s. I have had several requests for it, but I had misplaced/named it, and it was hiding on some archived CDs. If anyone wants it (for personal use of course!) send me your e-mail address. Mark
That would be just great ! My email address is ysstrucks@censattwb.com By the way that is a class A job your doing on your 65. I only hope that one day when my children are grown and have taken there projects with them I can tear mine that far apart and do it in that fashion . Thanks again ! Jared
It's nothing that a boat load of time and money can't take care of . Wouldn't you agree , Mark? I think we both have a lot more of each in our cars than either care to consider. And it isn't getting any cheaper or easier to find parts as time goes by.:eek2: Loren
Jared - it's sent! Loren - I couldn't agree more! The parts situation is nuts. The NOS front park light on ebay is just one, but I just heard about an NOS rear emblem (goes between the tailights) on ebay that closed out at over $500.00 (!!!!!!) Restoring a 65 in the years ahead is going to be a real challenge. Mark
Your car looks great! I love that color combination. Could I get a copy of your avitar as well? thelittledoos@verizon.net Thanks Mark
Loren, There will never be a big aftermarket that caters to these. What will have to happen is a small industry that makes short runs. You can see that to an extent already with Frank working on the steering wheels, and Chris offering the park and reverse lenses. More stuff is sure to come (I hope!). The hardest part I see is finding good parts cores for restoring. NOS is becoming out of reach for most of us. We'll have to spend the big $$$ to rechrome all that diecast :Brow: IF we can even chrome in the near future. As we talked about recently, finding a good 65 front bumper core is nearly impossible.
