Quote: Try getting a pickup truck, with the aerodynamics of a brick, to go 222 MPH with a diesel engine. Banks did, and kept it street legal too. http://www.galebanks.com/Banks_Sidewinder/sidewinder-news.cfm#
AUSSUMME:jd: is all I can say. Hey wait a minuite I drive a Dakota. Anyone want to help with an engine swap?
Diesels kick gAS! I drive a a slightly modified 2000 Jetta Diesel 160 miles a day at 47-51 mpg! Not as much fun as a Buick but I need the fuel economy with all the miles I drive. Jake
Just like to add I run the Reliability Garage for New Venture Gear here in Muncie, Indiana we build the NV-5600 6spd trans that is in this truck. The article is a little off the trans is closer to 400 lb you don't want to know the cost. There not rated for 1100 ft/lb of torque like this guy is running will be interesting to see how it holds up. But there better by far than the automatic that DaimlerChrysler put behind the 5.9L. Thanks, Van
