Recently I been into buying vintage Hot Wheels Track Sets and Cars.

I been looking for the Mongoose and Snake Wheelie sets, or any complete sets you guys might have hidden away in mom's attic.

Look em up and let me know what you got. Post em or PM me and i'll probably relieve you of that valuable storage space you've been needing!:beer

Remember the Hot Wheels garage that looked like a HoJo's as I think it had an orange roof? It ran on like 6 D batterries and there were two spinning rubber wheels inside that would propel the hot wheels car when it entered it. You would set your loop track right after it,,,,,,I loved that thing.

I remember getting a Hot Wheels set for Christmas one year. Maybe 1975-76. It had two shifters. When the car entered the turn and shifted, the car would get a push and go around the track again. You had to time the shifts just right or else. One car was a red Torino stock car. I cant remember the other one. My cousin had a Johnny Lightning track. I remember it was elevated with some sort of a conveyor belt to get the cars to the top.

I had miles of that track too. I would launch the car into my parents living room. You know, that room that you couldnt walk into and was only used for special occations? It was either that, or make rubber marks on the linoleum with my Evel Kneivel stunt cycle. Im pretty sure my mom threw that toy out when I wasnt looking!

I still have most of my Hot Wheels and what remains of my older brother's Matchbox cars. I took them out a year ago so my cousin's son could play with them.

See, now you have me going on Ebay searching my childhood!:spank:  The other car was a Monte Carlo stock car. Still didnt find that stock car set though

I remember that garage thing with the rubber wheels. Made the little metal cars into projectiles! Somehow, I dont think that would fly today.

Yeah, they dont make toys like that anymore. I made a thread a while back about toys from your childhood. I think it was about 4 pages long. You should search for it. It was good reading.

I had the HW repair shop/car wash where you would have to spin the foam brushes by hand. there was working garage doors and a little lever on the side to operate the hoist

I had a pretty good setup on the HW stuff. Had about 60-80 cars. I think my favourite ones were the Red Baron (remember the steel helmet?) and the Paddy Wagon. Like all of that stuff it eventually got thrown out over the years when we moved from base to base. Though I do remember that Matchbox cars were 25 cents, and actually came in a box... I think HW were about 35 cent... Between the cars and comics (10-15 cents) my allowance was pretty well spent. And yes I remember the beatings with that dam orange track...

Nice Leo. My originals are long gone, unfortunatly. I did manage to save all my slot cars, T-jets, AFX and Tycos. Been racing my whole life. Probably have 4-500. And 20 miles of track.

How about showing us a pic or two. I remember having those chrome ones too. They are sweet!!:beers2:
