Anyone have experience rechroming tilt or turn signal levers?

I am rebuilding a tilt steering column for my '67 and the turn signal levers are a little pitted. I will have them rechromed but I can't figure out how or the lever breaks down into smaller pieces. The black plastic thing on the end must be pressed or glued on and the fluted part near the end is OK and doesn't need polishing or plating.

Any idea if these can be broken down into their component pieces so I can just have the part that screws into the column rechromed?

Usually soaking the plastic in HOT water will soften it enough to remove. Install the same way.

Holy cow! if anyone has one, it looks like it would be you.
Let me know if you find a '67 style lever in there.
