Power Tour Nice meeting you today rh455. Looks like you found a few I missed!!!! Wasn't that older lady the owner/driver of that blue GSX clone? Prev: 72 Skylark Custom Loaded 83 Park Ave 84 Regal Current: 72 Skylark Custom Convt
Re: Power Tour I talked to her about it and she didn't mention the X stripes and when they were put on but I didn't notice the X emblem on the dash, it had chrome on the back of the hood and fenders. It was a 350 car also. She did say that they've had the car 28 yrs. I can't remember if it's Cascade or Crystal Blue. Sweet car though. Your convertible is awfully clean.
RH455 Hey thanks. "Yeah you rite". If you are looking at the pic in my very first post, that is at the tail end of almost a decade in storage. I'm getting it out of the shop tomorrow after doing complete brakes, (mst cyl and all new drums & whl cylinders)shocks, added 14x6 ralleys, and changed timing chain, cover, water & fuel pumps, fan clutch, new radiator, thermostat, all hoses, plugs points, rotor & dist cap, etc. I need a new top from Calmari trim on Broad St, but my boot is mint so it looks pretty clean when that is on, and I have a new cover so that will have to make do until my budget allows!! Will update my sig in the coming days with more recent pics. Talk to you later!
It's actually a gas grille. I guess that would be injected? Or BBQ nitrous? Those Chevy guys will even cheat on the grille.
Hey Reynold looks like you got there before most left due to the potential rain. Did talk to the owners of the '74 Black Stage 1 and the Apollo White '70 GSX :jd: Great people. First time I ever saw one in person --- BEAUTIFUL:laugh:
I didn't get a chance to talk to the guy with the white X car, but the guys in the black '74 turned out to be some guys I know. The black car is pretty tight. He told me it ran 13.0 at 4400#. What a ride. Looks, ride and speed.
Yeah nice guys.Talked to them for a while got their number and some good advice. Gonna call Jones Auto. for a quality rebuild . Know any local guys that do Nailheads? Later....:beer
Looking for a Stage One black 4 speed? There is one for sale in NC that looks a lot like that car. It is either a 73 or 74.
I've had some heads cleaned up by those guys at Jones Automotive. EAZY to talk to. Very small shop, but does have girdle experience. Chip's 69 has gone 10.0's w/stage 2 heads at 3800#. Jones built that one. I've seen a couple of 350 cars that Jones built the motors on. I'm probably gonna try them also. When I talked to him, I could tell in his voice that he knew Buicks and cared. Not a Chevy guy talking about Buicks. He knew clearances and the importance of it in a Buick. One less thing to get a "yeah yeah" from a Chevy shop. I'm collecting parts at the moment then I'll be on his door step.
WAS that Dave Mc Clelland's yellow GS in hotrod's suspension build up a few years back. You know the one where the GS is almost rolling over on the cover.
Darr Engine Service is in the city on Magazine street. Pass there just about everyday. I've heard of a few Cheby guys using them with success, but I don't know what Buick experience they have.
I have not used them personally, but lots of friends have. Like I said, Harvey did the machine work on Don's 11 sec nailhead, and he's doing a Pontiac 428 for another friend right now.
