I bought a 1971 GS drivers side rear lens from him. As I am getting ready to do the cosmetics on this car, it would be great to have!

Half truth's? Do you think that I get on this site to complain about other members? The truth of the matter is that I have in my hands a copy of the MO that I send him on Jan-24-09 and so far I have nothing in my hands.I could understand if he would come out and say,I am swamped right now and will send your parts asap, but the guy does not answer your calls or E-Mails.I have ranted enough,I don't want to get carried away.BrunoD.

    David,

I didnt say much about it, figured it was my own problem and just an expensive lesson in life

Tim advertised on the board a rebuilt 425 nailhead engine with less than 500 miles on it $500. Ok, I was restoring my 64 Cat with a 425 in it, and thought this may be a way to cut back a few expenses. Tim and I spoke about it, claimed his father rebuilt it for a Riviera he owned and was restoring. His father passed away, and Tim pulled the engine and scrapped the car. Sounded feasable, he sounded like he knew what he was talking about, so we made a deal for me to pick it up. During this conversation, I asked what else he may have for sale, and he tells me about a 1970 Stage1 engine and BB trans he has, that he just pulled from a car. Said the stampings are there, and everything is good to go. $1250 for both We made a deal, and would drive up the next weekend.

I got there, and the 425 is clean looking outside, his story could well be true so we loaded it in the truck. Now here is the fun part, the 70 engine and BB trans is now $2500! Gulp. At that time, I was new to all of this , and decided OK here we go and I bought it also. I asked if it was a good core to rebuild, and he claimed a couple times IT WAS. With alot less money in my pocket, I went home.

Both engines went directly to the shop. Jeff opened up the 425, and it was rusted and had NOT been rebuilt as Tim claimed. I was rather upset by all of this, since he claimed it was rebuilt, when we spoke, all I got was a song and dance, that he wasnt sure just what his father had done, but assumed it was done right. Just a bunch of lame excuses. I kept the engine as it wasnt a total loss, and after all it was only $500 not too bad for a good rebuildable block.

The 70 Stage 1 engine was torn down a few weeks later, and so far looked pretty good, everything was there, it wasnt trashed, so my hopes were high. We delivered it to the machine shop to start the rebuild. I got a call the next day that when they magnafluxed the block, it looked like spiderwebs it was so cracked up from freezing. :af:

Now I told him about the stage 1 engine and he basically tells me you bought it, its yours, and he never returned another call. Even though I called him numerous times, all I got was the answering machine

I had to look at this as a big learning curve, that there are some real ****ty people out there, and I am too trusting. It was after all used, and there is no warranty. But Karma is there, and some day so will be Guido, and it is not good to mess with either.

Mark that is messed up, going from $1250 to $2500 wasn't very cool in the first place. But he should of made some concession after all that.

But add all that into recent events, the dude doesn't play right and shouldnt be allow in our play yard anymore till he can get it together or something, right???

Here we will go again on the right of a seller to get what ever he wants and say as is your loss but I know, I know, I know, I know in my Buick heart the majority of us don't play like that with fellow members.

Whats done is done. I learned a lesson with it. There are plenty of unscrupulous people in the world, it's a fact of life that I, nor anyone here on this board can change.

Someday, he will have to answer up for what he has done in this life.

This happens to be the ONLY person who is on this board that I have ever had a problem with. That thought in itself is pretty reassuring because there are some really great people in this group. :beer

My buddy has been transfered, but he said If he ends up going through that area he will pound on the door. I told him what has gone on with this, and he suggested filling a brown paper bag with some dog doo doo and.....well you know the rest!!

Now chris,on that last remark...I guess he knew that he was being transferred and he choose to cheat people on the board,That,in plain English or in any other tongue is stealing. And,by the way, what are you doing, knowing what he did and said{it seams to me that when you were giving us that message you were in with him]you still are calling him a friend?BrunoD.

Bruno, I think you misunderstood Chris.

The way I read his response, Tim is still where he's always been. The guy Chris was going to send by to check on Tim has been transfered. Chris is a stand up guy that's trying to help you guys who are out of money. It's not his fault he's swung and missed on his first attempt.

Don't lynch the other people in the mob:laugh:

Yes Bruno, you've mis-read Chris' comments. His buddy is from the same area, but is NOT "buick tim".
