Man, that thing is a show stopper! What a great color combo. Better buy it quick......I’m Just one winning lottery ticket away from sporting this ride!

Although everyone is talking up how great a deal it is, who is buying it ?

There aren’t a ton of buyers at that price point...even though it seems like a “good deal,” when compared to what it costs to restore one.

I would offer less. 80k is absolute top dollar for that car. EIGHTY GRAND blows my mind. Even a Stage convertible would be surprising at that price. Finding the right Chevy Ford Mopar buyer is waayy easier than finding the right Buick buyer.

What people ask and what people get are sometimes so different. This car is at a dealer. It is honestly nothing more than a stock number.

OK guys. Duplicate it for $80K. Can't do it, can you?

Brad. Not one person has disputed that. 80k in 2020? Not everyone has your bank. You are correct. Cannot duplicate for the price. Nobody contested that.

Beautiful car. Zero knock on that. Will you ever get 90k back? Nope.

It is a freaking dealer. They don't give an eff. It is nothing but another sale. Period.

Brad sit for a minute. Non Stage car. Eighty grand? You wouldn't pay that.

It is a beautiful 60k car.

    1) where are they getting 1 of 58 ? That’s not correct .,

    2) 80K for rusted floors ?? sounds expensive .

    3) I’d like to see a nos rim blower steering wheel .,

All I said Pat is that you cannot duplicate that car for $80,000 and you agreed that is true. You WAY over estimate me and my resources, believe me. I cannot afford that car (or really, any car at this point) and could never redo the GSX's again. Just don't have that kind of money. I saved for 10 years to do my car the first time and people wonder why I don't drive but rather trailer the car...well because I can't do that again. I use a 17 year old truck and a 15 year old trailer to take it to shows. Do I live comfortable? Yes I do. But I don't live as well as some people think. Especially you it seems.

This boards software has a wonderful feature that allows a member to "turn off" seeing selected members posts. I am going to use that feature on you as I don't want to see anything else you have to say or type. If I did, you would probably find yourself banned I am sure and I really don't want to use that "power" on somewhat of a personal matter.

So adios muchacho! You are now dead to me.

I don't think 80 is high someone was willing to spend 60 on mine a couple of weeks ago so another 20 for a drop top.
Also it's a dealer so maybe you can grab it for 74-75 and a great color combo.
Mine is the not the so favorite bamboo cream. I think a 70 GS done in a nicely fashion is the ticket for a nice price tag.

If Joe Castragano restored that car then you can pretty much take it to the bank, that the car is beautiful. I have judged many of his cars as he gets them done and they are all beautiful.

To be honest when he lets us know what he is bringing we already know what caliber of car it will be and what it will look like.

Also, regardless of whether anyone here wants to spend the money for this particular car, or whether the asking price is "valid" in today's market, there is NO WAY anyone could get that car restored to that level for the asking price alone, and that is without the cost of buying the car to start with.

It would cost way more then that to restore that car today. If you don't believe how much that level of car takes to restore, then ask some of the restorers what they would charge.

It is not for the faint of heart.

Yup, Joe is Top Notch, no doubt about that..

10 years ago, depending on the condition and completeness it was to start with, it would have been tough to do that car for 80, if your paying to have it done professionally.

    With today's prices, no chance..

As with everything in life, that car is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. Not a dime more or less.

Any comment by someone who is not the buyer, is just an opinion, and we all know what those are like..

As always with cars.......Price it to keep it or price it to sell it, with dealers it’s almost always 20-30 % wiggle room........what it costs to do one and what it’s worth on the open market are rarely the same.

    It sure is a beauty!

There is always a buyer somewhere. I understand the build thing but many people buying a classic car could care less what the build cost was or is only what the car could command in today's market GS Stage 1's are where the money is from what I see but hey if someone sees different that's OK. It is a nice car but could use a better looking spare tire!
