Just like our cars, these old tractors have some great stories and memories attached to them. Keep it up
No pictures of it but I remember when I was a kid in the early 70's my dad had a old Allis that was crank start. He'd have to go out there with buckets of hot water in the winter to warm her up enough to crank over. Dont remember what happened to that one. Looked sort of like this
My brother and I restored a 37 John Deere b.It had been sitting behind my Uncle Skips house for years.Hand crank start ,a big 16 horsepower at 1250 rpm,and it has the coolest sound. .Here is a picture of my wife running it around the field.
I don't know if any of you follow any youtube channels. There's a guy on there that collects them. ChuckE2009 is his handle. He's in his 30's i'm guessing. Welder by trade (found him when i was watching welding videos...trying to learn). He has a sickness for tractors like i have a sickness for cars. He has a few older ones and a few newer ones. Kindof fun to watch him revive some of the older ones. He's a good fabricator too. Just thought i'd pass it along.
Love old tractors. Got 2 jd 140 H3 's. 69 and 71. Use them for snowplowing ,mowing and moving stuff around. Still serving active duty they don't build them like this anymore
I got a baybee Simplex or something, used to be belly mower but is a (or was!) a kiddy sized "tractor" I traded to a guy who had it in a reeeeeal shady hotel in Charlotte. He fully rebuilt it IN the apartment (identifiable by the huge OILSTAIN frum hell in middle of den). Cost be a wicked 12 gauge and a grand (in 1980's money) but boy is it cute! Lol Used to pull the kids behind it in a trailer through our field to pick blackberries etc
