Any tips on installing spacers in the rear?

I have bought a pair of 1" spacers to raise up the back end on my 70' skylark and hopefully clear the rear tires a little better under load (295 T/A's). I was wondering if anyone has tips on getting them in. I have only really worked on my 73 MGB before so the buick (bought about two months ago) is pretty new to me. The guy at Lordco (canadian parts chain) wasn't sure if I would need the type with a flat bottom or the ones with a groove on the bottom so I got the ones with the groove and can always return them if not correct. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I would think you would be much better off with a set of air bags in your rear springs. With only 5-7 lbs. of pressure, you'd take a lot of the "bounce" out of the rear. Plus you could pre-load your suspension if you ever take it to the track. Just my $.02.
