Any Pontiac Solstice owners?

I am partial to the red coupes but they are a little to pricey. I stick with looking for a convertible for under 10K.

One just came up in my area, 2007 with 10K miles, really clean. Slightly over top book value (11K). Can't get them any lower on the price. This is a convertible not a coupe.

Think these cars are going to go up in value? I don't mind paying a little more for a really clean car but I don't want to take a bath in a few years if I want to sell it.

If you pay top dollar and want to keep the investment up, it is going to need to remain lower mileage and clean, if this is to be a regular driver I don’t see that happening, keep it as a Sunday driver and ultra nice, you should be fine

Seems to me like they're going to be like Miatas as far as the market goes. There'll be nice pristine ones that the owner cherished, and then there'll be clapped out ones that have been passed between hacks and boy racers. I don't think they'll ever really be a "collector" car, but I think with a really clean low mileage one, they'll probably hold their value around that 10k, maybe even go up a little in the future. You can get them pretty cheap for higher mileage but clean, there's one in Spokane for under 5k that looks nice, but its got 120k miles on it. CL search in Seattle lists multiples of them all in the 6-8k range, but average miles......I don't think you'll get hurt too bad no matter what. You might lose $2,000 in value if you put 20,000-30,000 more miles on it.

Went to the dealer to look at the car in the daylight. Walk up to it and the passenger windshield wiper blade is disconnected, so I put it back on, easy to do but strange it was off. Close look at the paint and I cannot find one panel without some sort of scratch, the kind that might not buff out. The rear bumper has deep swirl scratches where someone tried to remove the painted on words "lady Bird". Interior was clean except around the ignition key area where it looked like a blind person kept jabbing the key to find the hole. 2 of the 4 rims had curb rash. Drove the car and it ran and drove great as a 10K mile car should.

I joked with my son that the way the car looked with all of the scratches and gouges in the key area that a very old person must have owned it. Talked with the sales man and he said it came from the original owner, a senior citizen that no longer could drive standard. So my joke was actually fact.

Dealer still thinks its worth $11K and that they will get that for it but I would not touch it for more than$ 7K. They have had it in stock for almost 3 months now with no sale and I can see why at that price. I will keep looking, something will come along.

I ran into a guy in Ohio this past summer with a "Mallet LS conversion" in 1. Very Impressive!!!
I was ready to buy a new Sky, but the Salesman @ the Dealership turned me off. Saw a Black 1 with Red guts (1st 1 I had seen) and chased it for about 3 miles to see what it was.
Got to drive a Solstice GXP Coupe that I was checking out for a Client. Performance was impressive, (especially under Boost).
Coupes have better visibility than the Convertibles (with top Up) .
I don't know of anyone that had 1 that weren't Happy with it.

Sky's are a little harder to find and typically go for 2-3 grand more than an equivalent Solstice. I like the looks of the Solstice better (personal preference). I would not turn down a good deal on a Sky if I came across one though.

Found this little guy local and picked it up this weekend. 2007 Solstice GXP, 2.0L Turbocharged, 260 H,P, 5-speed manual, 27K miles, fully loaded.
Well taken care of, almost like a brand new car.
Just something else to play with during our short 4 month summer:rolleyes:

Since the GXP did not come with a factory window sticker I created my own. Looks just like the original sticker.
Information on GS cars is easier to come by than these cars but I found enough to make and accurate reproduction. 07GXP.JPG
