Back up the camera, dude!!! I see a bunch of parts, but I don't know what the big picture looks like. It looks like you have the body off the frame. Why don't you post a pic or two of the overall set-up so we can get an idea of what's going on? What I can see looks interesting, but without seeing the overall shot, it doesn't make any sense.

I am interested in knowing more about this. Thanks.

    Have fun.

Interesting idea they had.......I would say whatever adjustment you could get would be from pulling against the bushing which I doubt would work seeing as that would bind everything.

What's the rest of the story on the car?
I like the seeing/hearing about the old school stuff.

Gary thats what I was thinking also, seems as if you adjusted this set up under a preloaded condition and you would have to because the adjustment is by turning the hein joint it would limt or as you said bind up the bushings and travel
And all it my do other wise is limit any twist just my therory
As for the rest of the car there is not much to tell I got it for the rear and a couple of solid doors
    Thanks for your input
    Dave

Jeff i started to put this rear in with this set up on it and now think i will not use it seems to not be very usefull from what i can figure out .
i have elected to use adjustable upper control arms and have boxed in my old ones

Yea Ive Seen these Before, They stiffen the read end to reduce flex in the Rubber controll arm bushings, If you race these will help reduce srtess on the bushing and stop flex under high torque. Rember you may actually notice a ride difference .The factory rubber busnings not only act as piviiots, but also vibration dampeners. If your going to Drag Ide use them. Bob g 's set up looks great too.

    maybe there was a reason

I have seen bars like this on some cars built for specific classes of racing (maybe NHRA Stock Division, or some early NMCA classes). I always assumed that the rules must have required that the factory links remain in place and functional. And that the rules must not have prohibited "adding" extra links along side the factory ones. These bars would only serve to stiffen the factory pieces, and to eliminate the give of the stock rubber bushings. I would think that they may be effective in controlling wheel hop, and in giving a somewhat better in launch in general terms, but as was stated above, not serve as any means of adjusting the preload, or any other type of geometry. Bind would seem to be the only result if any type of lengthening or shortening was attempted. Although the pcitured setup is probably better than stock, I would think that any of the commonly used aftermarket stand alone replacement pieces would be a better choice for a car not limited by class rules.
