Any ideas on how to sell my house to car collectors?

DEADMANSCURVE my first word : truck

Looks like a well kept place . But I've heard same feedback from Lookers at our place . It's a good sized old farmhouse just outside of small village upstate NY with barn and side shed and 8.9 acres @ $175K . Needs updating but it's clean n decent . On market 1-1/2 yrs , one look this spring ? Land and building upkeep are the negatives I think . Of course some people expect a new granite stainless kitchen and marble bath's etc . I think some shy away from the pool also . But that's decent also . Anyway , nice looking place . Good luck .

I would update the kitchen with a modern looking tile backsplash and replace counter top with Granite. I think most people nowadays want something that they can just move in and not have to update or paint. It may take a while as 80-90%n of people don't want the barn/garages, but when the right person see's it, they will love it.

I guess so...realtor keeps saying be patient but I'd rather spend 20K on kitcken than drop price another 50K.
I also suggested putting pic ad in local Gazette....he says no one looks there anymore.....then why does HIS firm post a full page ad with houses/pics?

Hemmings has a real estate section.
GarageJournal.com is full of garage fanatics!
Nice place, good luck with the sale.

Thinking of pulling off market and getting a loan to do kitchen and have ready for fall selling season. Realtor says anything in the 600K range people EXPECT an updated kitchen. Hate tossing perfectly running appliances and cabinets, counters, etc.
I'm old school and figure everything works and looks decent but realtor says people watch tv and see these projects and now every one expects new and updated. Not sure that I totally agree since this place is unique....i.e. not competing with a similar house down the road.
But....I need to get SOMEONE in the door!

    Dropped price to $595,000.

Just noticed realtor made a mistake in title of listing and has it in MAYLAND not MARYLAND.

I wonder if that affected searches.....or something.....

As long as your local MLS is computerized, it probably didn't affect any searches.

    Got this email:
Hi my name is Josh. My wife and I are VERY interested in your your place. We are looking to relocate to the Mt. Airy area, from eastern Tennessee. My wife grew up in Howard county, and has lived in the Mt. Airy area. We will anxiously await your reply, and please feel free to contact us via e-mail (joshnsherry3@Gmail.com) and by phone 423-300-0883 or 423 300 4687. Please leave a message if no answer, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. While traveling we loose cell signal quite often.

Looks legit but call and the guy can barely speak and says sorry wanting to rent and hangs up.

I must be stupid.....don't understand what kind of scam this is.

    Anyone know?

Still no interest, dropped price 130K. Realtor refuses to put ad in local homes for sale magazine. I said I'd pay. Says no one looks at them any more. Then why does it come out every month with hundreds of ads. I found my last two houses casually looking thru them. Wasn't really looking but spotted something and off I went.
He says anyone "actively" looking looks on the internet. I agree and say that I'm looking for someone NOT actively looking but could get motivated by seeing something unique. He looks at me like I'm from MARS.

Have to start selling more cars soon. Anyone looking for a real nice 99 Regal GS.? White with gray interior. Meticulously maintained. All stock.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I would switch realtors ASAP. You are the homeowner. He supposed to do what it takes to sell for you. He's not.

Can't yet.....Have a contract with realtor. Ends in 3 weeks. He gets $2,500 even if house DOESN'T sell! BS! No wonder not motivated to sell it.

Once contract ends I can sell myself and give someone a killer deal since no commission. Hint! Hint!

I wish I could find something similar, about half as big, and half the price...near St Louis. I have been striking out.

    Nice place you have there!

Off the market as far as realtors. BUT I will offer it at $485,000 for next 30 days (no realtor commission).

This way below market value and accessed value for the neighborhood and the area but this is slow time of year. I will be renovating kitchen soon and then it will be listed at $595,000 in the spring.
There are pictures still available but not with my old realtor. Just punch address in and some sites still have them.

Thanks for any interest or referrals ($2,000 bonus to a legit referral that pans out!)

Wow Bruce, that's a smoking good deal. I'd bet selling it yourself @ $550k w/o the new kitchen & as close as you are to DC (9 of the top 20 wealthiest counties in the country are DC suburbs, incl. Howard) and Baltimore/Frederick that place will be gone quickly. You're selling yourself way short @ $485k IMHO (I know you want it gone). Not close to mine or my wife's work or I'd come & check it out. I'd think there might be some type of bulletin board for the Federal Gov't you could even post it on, plus the aforementioned Garage Hournal, Hemmings, etc. I have a blank copy of the MD Board of Realtors Contract if you sell it yourself - It's got all the right legalize. Msg. me your email addy if you need it.

20 garage/ carport spaces etc but I can't reach people who need/want it. The people who look whine about TOO much in the way of storage garage buildings !!!
I give up.....burn the place down!
    Just kidding. ....I think...

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

Put your home on Zillow and Redfin for free and sell it yourself. I sold my home in Greensboro NC for more than most realtors wanted to list it at. I took the pics and put a for sale sign and flyers in the yard. House sold in 6 weeks and I didnt have to pay anyone a commission.
