Well, I took the plunge as the test dummy for everyone on these seat. I am thrilled to say they are excellent. They absolutely exceeded my expectations.

The seats look right in the car and they are very well engineered, light and very comfortable.

The total install time was a little less than 3 hours including removing the old bench seat and drilling the inboard holes for the buckets. They are so well engineered that installation was a breeze.

The only problem that I encountered was with the pull cable for the seat adjusters. There were two holes for the cable to use and one was too tight and the other too loose. So, I had to drill one in between. Other than that, very well designed.

Here are some pix in the car

How did I miss that? They look great in his car too. Sure beats the old days when we would get them from the u-pull it salvage yards out of later model cars. These actually look nice and fit LOL.

I have been contemplating these for some time now...glad they worked for you. Did you have to buy any additional harware to mount them?

The seat slider/adjusters come with the seats. Then you have to buy mounting brackets for your application. They do not list Skylarks but I ordered them for 65 Chevelle and they fit perfectly.

10-4 ... appreciate the reply. I will need to do a little research to see if they fit....if any out there can share some knowledge I would appreciate it.

I am not sure what question you have remaining. All you have to do is order the installation brackets for a 69 Chevelle and your set. I did have to drill the inboard side holes in the floor but it bolts to the outboard holes so locating the seats is a snap.

I missed your first post. We have them in the Red car. Tyler drove it daily for years, and they have been great for him. They still look new, after 3 years.

Considering what it would cost to buy used seats and have them rebuilt, it might actually be cheaper to go this route for a driver. Nice thing would be that they recline.

How is the lateral support on those they don't appear to have much of a bolster otherwise very nice. What are your plans for seatbelts?

    That was my conclusion also.

They have different models if you want more lateral support. I was more interested in a seat that looked period correct.

As for the seat belt. I would love some shoulder belts but I have not figured that set up out yet. I would love to see some other peoples set up.

I've been thinking of replacing my original buckets with those and yours is the second thumbs up. Do you sit higher than than you did in the stock bench? I've heard from several people that they sit higher than stock and for some it's a little uncormfortable.

No higher than the bench that was in the car, but I felt like that sat too high also. A mid 6' guy would have to slouch to keep his head off of the headliner. Once I get more important stuff done, I will probably cut down the floor bracket to go and inch or so lower on the seating position.

Tyler set them up regular heighth in the 72. He's just over 6'. He added the racing harness with shoulder straps and uses that all the time now.
