Just wondering about any Buick Clubs in the South Florida area. Let me know, thanks!
There are a few of us from this board around Sarasota and Bradenton
That's a bummer, that's a 4 hour drive from me.
What's your location? There are several V8 guys in the West Palm area.
I'm in Boynton Beach so that's not too far away!
I'm in Weston, 15 miles West of Ft. Lauderdale. Hector
Wasn't there a map with pinpoints for all V8 members?
Not sure that is still maintained. I'm in Royal Palm in the winter. Waterboy, John Carrol is in lake worth. He knows several other Buick guys in the area.
This is Waterboy, John Carroll. I live just a little north of you in Lake Worth. Would love to meet up with you and check out your car! I have two 68 GS's. I have a buddy, Milton, with a beautiful unrestored 70 GS who also lives in Lake Worth. Hector, HVRAMESQ, lives in Weston down by Ft. Lauderdale. Fred, Milton, and I met him at a Buick "get together" last year. A very nice guy that I'm trying to talk into going to the GS Nationals this October. (I see you out there Hector!) Theres 2 more guys, I can't remember their names right now, that live in Hector's area. My son knows a bunch of guys with GN's. They have a "Get together" a couple times a year. I'm going to Virginia Spring break and then retiring the next day!!!!!!! March 26th. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me a text or shout sometime in the near future 561-722-0922
Do you folks have club or get togethers? I'm in Pinellas County.
We really don’t have a club here. Would be great to organize though and maybe meet once a month for that.
Congrats on the retirement John! My car is in need of a full restoration so its not something anyone would love to see haha but i love the car and i still drive it around so yeah meeting up would be cool. I really started this thread to get together with some guys with Skylarks so I can look at their cars and see things im missing on my car and make it easier for me to restore my car and of course to get together with some buick lovers and see what cool stuff everyone has in their rides.
I'm not just a snobby GS owner. I also have a 69 Skylark Custom. My oldest son has a 68 Skylark thats way worse than anything you have. lol!!! He's wanting to turn into a racecar. It came with a 6 cylinder. Now it has a real nice running 350 in it. He has it all stripped down doing body work on it. When I get back from Spring Break, March 27th, I'll give you a shout and invite you on over. Send me a text so I have you in my phone. TTYL......................
PS, I liked the remodel you did on your dash! I'll have to show that to my son.
My whole passenger side quarter panel is all rusted because the previous owner had a shop take a grinder to it to reveal the bad body work and they stopped for whatever reason haha and thats how the car sits today. That's a great project for your son, i would of started the metal repair and body work but I dont have a garage to store it, apartment life sucks when you have a classic car! haha Yeah that instrument cluster came out pretty good, the original was just the one thing I never liked to look of in the car. Yeah it would be fun to come over and see your cars and ill bring mine. My number is 561-236-9020.
John & Christopher, lets pick a weekend and meet up.
Christopher, if your in parts gathering mode, you should consider the Daytona Turkey Run for the Swap meet-march 23-25.
I would love to go to a swap meet for parts but my brother is getting married that weekend! :/ and yeah when John is back after spring break we can all pick a weekend and meet up.
"Hey Guys!" That's what my 2 year old grandson says when he comes walking up to the house. 3 more kid days at Monster Middle School. OK, I'll stop ranting, or bragging. >
Hector, hell ya I'll host an afternoon BBQ for us. If you have a wife and kids, they're more than welcome. My oldest and his family will undoubtedly be here. We're very kid proof. Christopher, if you have a wife or gf she's more than welcome too. Don't know if you have little ones. They're invited too. I'll get Milton to come over with his family, possibly. His car probably won't make it because we'll probably have the engine out by then. Milton is getting a guinune Fred Weisse, "Tristar Motors" 480 cubic engine built for his car. Milton, if you are out there, I'll be ready to help you pull your engine really soon! Retirement will be nice!!! There's 2 other guys I've chatted with down by you Hector. I'll check my past PM's and see if I can get back with them. Count me in!!!!
Oh yeah, I can get some GN's over here. Come on now... They are Buicks. >
John, Thanks for making me an engine builder, but the real one is JIM WEISE.
That sounds very nice John, its just me and my girlfriend for now lol. I cant wait to take this olds 350 engine that the previous owner put in and get my hands on a 455!!
sounds like a plan; GN's are always welcomed in my book. Actually thinking about getting a GN towards end of this year
