Granted it's a Pontiac but we have better bore size/spacing.
This combo used an Edelbrock head!!

So all we really need is an updated TA head casting with more volume and a raised deck.

Car is a 68 Firebird at about 3200lbs on a 10.5 Hoosier Radial slick. It went 8.32 at 161 last night at Norwalk at about 600ft DA

1.97 HP/Cu.In.....thats pretty stout for a NA motor with non-exotic parts !!! I give Mike credit...he gets the most out of his combinations !!!

This Pontiac engine was the model for my engine. Scott patterned my cam after his but with less lift. On the new engine Scott will again use what he has learned from the Pontiac to apply to mine. I can't quite get the heads to flow the same but they are close. The new engine will be another exercise in simplicity, stock oil pump, internal pick up, etc. I should have it done in a month so I will see if I can join the 1000 hp club. Scott seems confident we can.

    Good to hear!

I assume you got your crank as mine showed up this week.

This Pontiac is very impressive considering the cylinder head configuration and bore spacing.

Yes I did. I didn't even open the box, just took it over to the machine shop. He is suppose to have all machine work done next week so I can start assembling. That Pontiac is impressive and an inspiration.

You lead. I'll follow. I hope you make a ton of power!

Keep me posted. I'm probably looking at spring time for mine.

Long is right. So bickering goes on no matter what brand you like.

For what it is worth, I use 2.300 intakes with 52 degree seat angles. Did this back in 2000 and it has been the go-to seat angle for me ever since. Although the angle combinations are endless the 52 certainly helped the high numbers and hurt the low numbers very little.
