Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Happy New Year! I hope you are able to come back to the USA again to see the sites that you wanted. Don't be a stranger here. You are one of us now!

Hi all, I had realized how much time has gone by since my last visit to the V8Buick Forum - 1.5 years. It's a sobering realization, 'cos I would have pegged it at half that. It's been a busy time - after Denmark, I wandered down through Germany, France and Italy visiting friend's along the way and then returned to Australia via a couple of months in India. From then on, I've mainly been working, helping a friend strip out an old factory, painting the odd house here and there and then buying a BMW F800GS Adventure (and, no - 'GS' does not in this case mean Buick powered!) to wander parts of the east coast of Oz down through to Tasmania (a motorbiker's paradise of hills and twisty roads). Sold that after 6 months and 6000 miles to fund the purchase of a Nissan Patrol to take myself out bush, to go see the parts of my own back yard, that I haven't seen yet. But before I do that, the call of the GS Nationals is upon me - as it turns out I may have missed two Nationals, and not just the one I thought I had, I've booked myself to fly to the States to join you all for 4 days of good drag racing. Sadly I won't be racing and the Electra won't be flying the Aussie flag, as she lifts her skirts and flies her way down the quarter mile at 16.6 secs - I sold her before I left in 2017 but it will be good to catch up with those of you who are attending. I'm looking forward to being there - see you all in about 6 weeks time! Stephen

Yes, it will be good to catch up - I'm looking forward to it too, and, although (sadly) I won't be racing, I've had a 'smile on my dial' since I decided to attend. Are you coming in the Riv, or are you trailering the Regal 455?

That is all up in the air as to which car will attend. Right now as of this minute none of them are ready to go. Regal has been down for a yr. Pulled the top 1/2 of the engine on the Riv yesterday to replace a head gasket and the Wildcat status is unknown until I make a trip to Detroit in a few weeks. I may be there in a F250.
