The 71 350 out of my Skylark Custom is going in for a rebuild. I had the Q-Jet rebuilt about 1k miles ago. 4 barrell.

I'd like to go with an aluminum intake- but what about the choke "stove" for the Q-Jet?

Any aluminum intakes have a provision for a non-electric choke?

Anyway to easily convert the Q-Jet to accept a electric choke?

A manual choke is out of the question.

    Thanks fellow Buick lovers.

I have not tried either of those in the post to use on the intake, but someone might post if they have. To my knowledge, there is no good way to convert the divorced choke quadrajet to make it electric. The 75-76 Buick Quadrajets are hot air choke style and those can be converted to electric and do work well. You might consider moving to that style quadrajet if you want the electric choke.

I have used the flying fish type link on 454 Chevys . They were in a fleet of tour buses that I worked on years ago. They worked well.

I posted a solution to the electric choke a few years ago. Put it on my 73 Riviera and it worked great. Had to make my own rod to connect to a Quadrajet.

    Thanks Guys.

Maybe I'll be selling my Quadrajet. I'd like to go with an aluminum intake but that looks like it may require a new carb.

All the new Edelbrock intakes are drilled for both square bore and spread bore carburetors. Even my SP1 is drilled for both. I run both a Q-jet and DP type carb on my engine.

    Thanks Larry.

What do you do for the Quadrajet choke with the aluminum intake?

I don't use a choke, but on the Edelbrock intakes, you can use a Chevy style choke like in this article.

Or, some Q-jets can be converted to electric choke.

    Thanks Guys.

After speaking with the Sean, I'm going to keep the factory intake and QJ, then put my cash into some head work.
